The Passion of the Christ

I finally watched the long-awaited movie "The Passion of the Christ". While watching how the Lord Jesus in the movie suffered for us, I kept thinking of what the Bible says in Isaiah 53:

"Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God ., smitten by him, and afflicted But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;. the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed "
" Surely he hath borne our griefs, Bear our pain; but we think that he was punished, beaten and treated by God. But he was victimized for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities. Because of his punishment, we have peace; because of his punishment We have to heal our whiplash.”

At the same time, I also remembered those lyrics:
"I'll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon that cross" (Here I Am To Worship)
"Amazing love, how can it be, that You, my King, would die for me?" (You Are My King)

Many people think that the scenes in the movie are too bloody and violent. However, it turns out that the cruelty that the Lord Jesus suffered on that day was more shocking than what we saw in the movie. What this movie says is nothing but historical facts. His obedience to God the Father, his love for us, his salvation and healing power are all revealed in every real fragment. In order to accomplish the will of God the Father, He silently assumed everything for us. Because of His love and sacrifice, we can get true life, peace and healing.

  • [to the guards beating Jesus on his way to Golgotha]

Simon: Stop! Stop! Leave him alone! If you don't stop, I won't carry that cross one more step. I don't care what you do to me!
