The first two-thirds of the film can be said to be wonderful, many funny methods can be called excellent, when I think it is funny, it doesn't do it, and when I don't pay attention, it makes me laugh abruptly. Many of the sections in it were imitated by later movies, such as the section where the Tang monk in the Westward Journey said that the fairy was dead. I think the funniest passage is the one about the guitar. The baggage that suddenly shakes out in the sound of nature is really too ridiculous.
The last 1/3 felt regressed obviously, and many of the jokes seemed far-fetched, not as good as the feeling of hand-in-hand in the front, and the funny effect also regressed. But overall it is worth seeing. The heroes and heroines are very beautiful.
This film is ranked 10th among the top 100 funny films in the United States selected by AFI.
