The protagonist in the film entered the infected building because he followed the firefighters on the show. Such an explanation is more convincing than "The Cloverfield File" holding a DV. Moreover, the two people in the film are media workers. They are more capable of capturing news value than others. The cameras that will risk their lives in the face of such explosive news images are really a bit real. With a sense of substitution, the style of portable shooting at this time reflects its charm.
Compared to escaping on the street, I find it more terrifying to be in a cramped and enclosed space. I always feel that there are some opportunities outside anyway, but being blocked in a small building will feel less scary. Hopeless, a situation of being abandoned and waiting to die. So in terms of creating the atmosphere, "Death Video" still does a better job, especially in the end, when I suddenly see the face of an infected person on camera in the dark, it's still quite scary, even I've seen it a lot.
