Scarlet Invasion

This film has another name called "Don't Approach Strangers". In fact, I prefer this name. It matches the atmosphere of the film. There is a touch of alienation and indifference, or a warning, not a strong threat. It's a bland narrative, just like the warning signs for "walking around the road" on the construction road.

At first, I felt that this film was very dull, with lengthy scenes, rare dialogue, and scary scenes that have not appeared for a long time...

At one point, it made people wonder if the attributes of this film were written wrong.

However, just when you were calmly about to blend into this snowy and clean picture, and even brewed a faint warm feeling about the friendship between the two children, the cruel plot appeared.

Even if no one wants to destroy this tranquility, the way a vampire survives is doomed to conflict with humans. In other words, it is also doomed to be lonely. It is precisely because of this loneliness that it is attracted to another lonely boy. Judging from the film, at first it was reluctant to approach the boy, maybe it was out of the consideration of "not approaching strangers", and then it can be said that it became more and more attracted to him. I would rather believe that this is an unconscious liking. As for The scene at the end of the film gave me a chill, and I didn't want to guess.

To put it simply, if this is not a premeditated plan, then the friendship between these two children is really touching, but in the end, the two of them leave together and it is not worrying. After all, humans cannot live forever at 12 years old, and vampires are immortal.

But if this is a premeditated plan in another reincarnation, it is really enough to make people feel hopeless. Could the boy be another old man who was getting old and was finally abandoned by it draining his blood? Then there will be another young boy to accompany it until the endless cycle?

It is said that the old man in the original book is just a pedophile whom the girl just met, but even so, seeing the old man finally dedicate himself to her, there is still a sense of despair.

  • Eli: [standing outside the door] You have to invite me in.

Oskar: What happens if I don't? What happens if you walk in anyway?

[feels the air between himself and Eli]

Oskar: Is there something in the way?

  • Oskar: Who are you?

    Eli: I'm like you.

    Oskar: What do you mean?

Eli: [accusing tone] What are you staring at? Well?

Eli: Are you looking at me?

Eli: [points her finger at Oskar] So scream! Squeal!

Eli: Those were the first words I heard you say.

    Oskar: I don't kill people.

Eli: No, but you'd like to. If you could... To get revenge. Right?

    Oskar: Yes.

Eli: Oskar, I do it because I have to.

Eli: Be me, for a while.

    [pause]

Eli: Please Oskar... Be me, for a little while.
