"My Neighbor Totoro" re-screened in China, marking the 30th anniversary of "My Neighbor Totoro"
After 30 years, "My Neighbor Totoro" was released in China. This was the first time that Hayao Miyazaki's movie was released in a Chinese theater. When the music sounded, it seemed to be drawn back to the first time I saw this movie in my childhood. The plot of "My Neighbor Totoro" is simple and simple, but it is precisely because of the simple story, cute characters, and delicate feelings that the movie is pure and classic, and never fades. "My Neighbor Totoro" has always been the best Hayao Miyazaki in my heart, and it is also one of my 20 best film history (currently). Although I have watched it many times, no matter when I watch it, no matter how many times I watch it, I will still be moved by the sheer nature of the movie. Perhaps this movie is my childlike innocence.
Let’s talk about the Chinchilla first. The cute shape and round appearance are really cute: the setting is cute and only children can see it. This is what I like very much. In fact, I can see the cuteness of Chinchilla in many parts of the plot. For example, when it rains at a station, the heroine Satsuki lent an umbrella to Totoro who didn’t bring an umbrella. When she heard the sound of rain playing an umbrella, she was as happy as a child, holding an umbrella and jumping up to catch the rain on the tree. Quake down. The deepest influence many people have on Chinchilla is its silly smile, like a child, but it is also a child’s elf, a guardian.
Let’s talk about the soundtrack. Because I’m late, I didn’t hear the classic Apricot Inoue’s "Walk" at the beginning of the movie. In my memory, this song is particularly cute with the animation at the beginning. "My Neighbor Totoro" is more classic and shines on everyone's childlike innocence. The second is Joe Hisaishi’s soundtrack. This should be the third film that Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisaishi have collaborated with (the first two are "Nausicaa" and "Castle in the Sky"). The movie format is not as big as the first two, but Hisaishijeo still makes the soundtrack full of aura, especially "Passage of the Wind", which is particularly classic. The soundtrack is matched with the fresh and oil-like rural scenery in the movie, adding a kind of agile mystery to nature.
"My Neighbor Totoro" is not only pure innocence, but also respect for nature, which is very Miyazaki. In the movie, Xiaoyue's father has been encouraging the sisters to find Totoro and thanked nature. Although he was straightforward, he looked very pious: the call of trees at night in the movie is particularly profound. Totoro allows the children to feel nature and enjoy nature. After watching the movie, I discussed Japanese culture with the classmates who went to the movie. Indeed, in terms of protecting local culture, Japan is indeed worth learning from China.
"My Neighbor Totoro" is a time-honored work and an immortal classic in the animation industry. The re-screening 30 years later will surely evoke the childhood memories of many movie fans. I thought that My Neighbor Totoro existed since I was young, and when I grew up I hoped that My Neighbor Totoro existed, but now My Neighbor Totoro has deeply lived in my heart. I highly recommend "My Neighbor Totoro"! It is highly recommended for animation film lovers and film beginners to watch.
