why the second part failed

Spoilers involved.

It's hard to imagine a movie like The Crimes of Grindelwald, designed with so many clues and revealing a mystery we're not interested in at all.

The climax of this multi-line story is of course theoretically taking place in a cemetery meeting, but this climax gives people a very poor look and feel. Next we analyze each character's storyline to understand why it's so bad.

1. Credence: In the first movie, the final weapon boy who was early in the scene of the villain, Grindelwald was ready to use him to kill without realizing that the blood alliance could be lifted. If he hadn't been sniffed, he should have Dumbledore who couldn't hurt himself. All his abilities are touted by Grindelwald, as a viewer emotionally unable to accept why he was able to kill Dumbledore ( and was threatened by the writers that he would be burned to death if he did not accept this setting ), and did not quite understand why he was about to Convinced to murder Dumbledore. In fact, many viewers, like me, think that he can only be ranked third after Grindelwald and Newt, and even his obsession with finding blood connections can only vaguely remember a general reason.

As the key character of the whole movie puzzle, his importance cannot be reflected in this film. His role and plot are second to none, and the contradiction between them makes the climax seem comical. Simply put, as viewers, we don't care about Credence, or the movie is not set up to make us care about this "important person."

2. Grindelwald: Prison escape, successfully guided Credence to exhaust all possibilities in the process of exploring the mystery of his life experience, and came to the conclusion that he could not know his true identity, and had to fall back to the only Grindelwald who claimed to know. We all knew he was going to break out, and we all knew that Credence was going to be back under his control. The process was performed wonderfully by Uncle Depp and special effects.

3. Leta: The characters who were forcibly added to increase the complexity of the plot. After solving the puzzle, they forcibly sacrificed. They did not bring death or death. No impact on the future.

4. Yusuf Kama: The characters who are forcibly added to increase the complexity of the plot are only born to make puzzles, and even Bai Xue can't make them. It has no effect on the future, and it even makes people wonder why not burn him to death.

5. Newt: At the beginning, he shouted not to stand on the side. It seems that after a series of tragic incidents such as the burning of his sister-in-law, he made up his mind. Because: 1. You don't know where your ass is, and everyone knows which side you are from; 2. Even if we as Harry Potter fans know that Grindelwald's movement is beyond its horror, it gives magic to the future The world has brought all kinds of great progress, but in the film he is a slick, innocent terrorist whose ideals and visions are not well represented, so we feel that Newt has no reason to sway. In addition, Newt even lost the girl's favorability and had to pick it up again, which is equivalent to saying that emotional development is also a stagnant pool.

To sum up, I think the reasons for the failure of the film are:

1. The story basically did not progress, and the relationship between characters failed to progress.

2. The new characters are perfunctory, like deliberately complicating a story that has nothing to tell, and it is meaningless to continue the development of the story in the future.

The root of 3.1 and 2 is that the movie cannot convince the audience that all plots serve the core character Credence. Just imagine: a teenage hero with great potential travels the world to find clues about his biological parents, and lives with a beautiful girl who also has a miserable life and is cursed. In the journey of uncovering the mystery of their own life experience, they are frequently hindered and even hunted down by the righteous. Every time they find someone who may know their true identity, the person is murdered by the mastermind behind the scenes before the truth can be revealed. After going through many difficulties, I finally learned about my parents' identity. I didn't have time to think about it, and I was told that I was not him, but an unknown baby whose identities were exchanged with him when he was a baby. After countless painful searches, the protagonist who finally found nothing, finally fell to the dark side under extreme pain and joined the evil camp, but he did not know that the whole process was actually under the control of the great devil, in order to pull the boy into the Under his own banner, use the potential of the youth to kill the strongest magician in the justice side...

Doesn't it sound pretty good, a bit of the Qiao Feng line of Tianlong Babu, and a bit of Star Wars?

But you have to hypnotize yourself to believe that Credence is the protagonist first, because the movie itself can't do it.
