Tonadore's time and space trilogy ("Paradise Cinema", "The Pianist at Sea" and "The Beautiful Legend of Sicily") does not have "Journey to the Family", why can't they form a four-part series of life. Many years ago, I watched the American version remade by a British director, and after reading it, I felt a little dull and rated it four stars. The lonely old father's family visit journey, tracing the life trajectories of his sons and daughters, witnessing the difficulties of life and the helplessness of reality. It is a very touching subject. Because De Niro is too heroic, he did not see the loneliness and sadness of an old man, but his whole body was full of vitality. De Niro is not suitable for wind-corrupted years, and he will always have the spirit of a grandmaster like a grandmaster. In 1990, director Tonadore's original version of this version gave the film a truly strong Italian Sicilian charm and a touch of warmth. Marcelo's father figure is very close to the setting of a mild European old man. Top hat, trench coat, suitcase, plus a pair of heavy-soled reading glasses. Slow pace, babbling words, big serious eyes behind the lens, very like the old grandpa like the child in "UP". Marcelo has a set of ways to interpret the wandering soul. Both his back and his steps have a soul. His words are not exaggerated, and everything is boring. The expectations and worries for the children, as well as the last good-natured lie, in the depths of great love, are all moving. The most embarrassing thing in the film is the son who finally failed to meet, and it is Xiao Duoduo in the Paradise Cinema. Two years later, Tonadore still silently stabbed the audience with a sour and tender stab in the heart. This is the reason why I gave this version of Family Journey an extra star for the American version. Laughing and crying, the British didn't take it at all.
