Before becoming a big man, who was not a small person?

It took two weeks to read the Atlantic Empire, and finally I spurred myself today: it is time to sum up this good drama.

The background takes place in the United States around the 20th century, and Nuuk Thompson is the only protagonist of the five seasons. Here I will not summarize in the order of the movies, but write Nuuk's life growth.

Nuuk was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which is close to the ocean and is also a famous tourist city. Nuuk's father made a living by fishing and had a serious tendency to violence. Nuuk would be beaten in the face if he didn't agree with each other at the table. Mothers are typical housewives who are accustomed to accepting domestic violence against children by their husbands.

Nuuk is the eldest in the family, with a younger brother and a younger sister. But the younger sister was frail and sickly, and died very early. In such a family environment, even eating a full meal is a luxury. In the United States at that time, there were most children who couldn't eat like Nuuk.

Compete with each other for a coin. In order to pick up the hats blown off by the wind for the rich, they compete with each other...

Children who grow up in the competition understand one truth: when an opportunity comes, they must try their best to win it as soon as possible in order to survive. And Nuuk realizes earlier than most children that short-term petty profits can be sacrificed for longer-term interests.

Under this law of survival, Nuuk got acquainted with the sheriff at the time, and later the brigadier general. Through diligent work, and a cautious and extremely restrained style of behavior step by step to become the sheriff.

In order to win the favor and trust of the brigadier general, Nuuk once dedicated the young and ignorant Jimmy's mother to the brigadier general. Jimmy's mother was only 12 years old, and then there was Jimmy.

Nuuk also began to step by step towards the status of the actual controller of the Atlantic

It was not until 1920, when the United States passed the Prohibition Act (1920-1933), that Nuuk began to make more profits by selling bootleg alcohol in Atlantic City, and the first season of Atlantic Empire also began here.

Cautious, restrained, and extremely controlling, Nuuk is also ruthless and greedy. Cautious, restrained, sociable, with few big-name unknowables, Nuuk's Atlantic empire has been built, and Nuuk's ruthlessness and greed have created avoidable incidents.

ruthless

Because of his strong desire to control, his younger brother Eli betrayed him first. Jimmy was raised by Nuuk and treated him as a father. Later, with the support of his biological father, the brigadier general and the inducement of his biological mother, he also began to fight against him.

The younger brother pleaded for repentance many times without his forgiveness. Nuuk let him not die, but let him go to prison for two years. The younger brother, who was released after serving his sentence, still could not get Nuuk's trust. It was not until the efforts of the younger brother's whole family that the brothers were reunited.

And Jimmy was not so lucky, because Jimmy had listened to his mother's inducement and sent a killer to assassinate Nuuk, which almost succeeded. Later, Jimmy repented and took the initiative to help Nuuk remove the obstacles in front of him, but was still killed by Nuuk himself.

Because Nuuk believes in blood, his younger brother and himself are relatives. Although Nuuk was raised by himself, he is not a relative after all.

Even at the end, Jimmy's mother wrote to Nuuk in the lunatic asylum, and Nuuk only told her: In fact, you should not be looking for me.

greedy

In business, Nuuk demands a piece of the pie everywhere, and will always try to maximize his interests.

This also led to many gangs fighting against him, and there were many conflicts. Even when he was in danger, no one reached out to help him.

Nuuk's virtues are of course more: integrity, gentleman, tenacity, prudence, restraint, humor.

Especially in the control of emotions, it is rare to see Nuuk venting his emotions.

This show is very atmospheric. If you regard the movie "The Godfather" as a classic, then this movie will not let you down.
