Still the one who is familiar with Ethan

Why should I watch this Mission Impossible?

I like spy films very much. However, with the fading of the Cold War background in World War II, the recent spy films are declining one by one. Almost all the spy films that I pay attention to are no longer good. The spy films that were once regarded as classics have been repeatedly terminated (later Don’t count those that weren't made by Damon in this series), the 007 series is not tepid, and it is hard to expect a series of Ace Agents, but it was too early to be bad in the second part. Only the Mission Impossible series, more than 20 years later, is still the immortal Ethan Hunt. It's the Tom Cruise that can pick up airplanes and climb cliffs.

What's so good about the movie?

When I came out of the theater, I didn’t regret it. It counted as a qualified score. The script of the movie can see that the screenwriter is still polished. It is not the kind of script that is random because of the action and special effects, although the script is not the best. But in a series of special agent films, it has belonged to the upper middle class.

Action scenes and images are already standard features of special agent movies. Speed chase, skydiving, unarmed rock climbing, and helicopter chase between cliffs are added. These exciting action scenes are fully worth the price of the ticket, and more. Comes with so many handsome men and pretty women.

This kind of movie still has meaning nowadays. I think the words of Ethan’s wife Julia at the end of the film moved me. She said that only when someone like Ethan exists can I live in peace and happiness somewhere in the world. This sentence reminded me of what Dr. Sancheng did in the "Unnatural Death" I was watching. Their (these special talents) people are always fighting for what they think is just cause, whether it is wronged or wronged. Framed. And isn't our society better because of such people who support justice? It is precisely because of those who work hard for fairness and freedom that we can live in a certain place with peace of mind and happiness. If we know that the judge will make a fair judgment based on the law, if we know that the police will follow up as soon as we receive the report, if we know that the car we call will safely deliver us to the destination, if we know that we rent There won’t be any poisonous gas in the house that comes down, or even if we have an accident, there will be an impartial lawyer who can help us uphold justice. Are we still not happy?

Disadvantages~?

The first one is that the time is too long. Although I didn't feel the passage of time too much during the viewing process, the car chase in Paris did make me a little bit involved. Of course, I also saw the cut shots on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOXrmnd4zYU in order to shorten the time as much as possible, indicating that at least the film crew knew this problem and tried to make up for it. The impact is not that big.

But the second shortcoming is more important. Some characters are not well-built. Although I have seen many comments that the female characters in the play are very eye-catching, I really admit that the female characters who appear as supporting actors in the special agent movies are usually not enough. However, the female characters appearing in this movie all have distinct personalities and outstanding characteristics. But it's still insignificant in front of the main story, and even Ilsa has some problems thinking about some of the logic of the actions. Not to mention the White Widow, although the role is very important and the appearance is very gorgeous, but the character is very unclear, I hope to be able to play in the next one~

  • Wolf Blitzer: Stand by. I'm told we're about to get some additional information. I've just been handed a document from Nils Delbruuk, a nuclear weapons specialist who claims to have built the weapons used in these attacks. I've been asked to read this manifesto in its entirety. "There has never been peace without first a great suffering. The greater the suffering, the greater the peace. As mankind is drawn to his self-destruction like a moth to the candle, the so-called defenders of peace - the church, the government, the law - work tirelessly to save humanity from itself. But, by averting disaster, they serve to delay a peace that can only come through an inevitable baptism of fire. The suffering I bring you is not the beginning of the end. It is the beginning of a greater mutual understanding through common suffering. It is the first step toward the ultimate brotherhood of man. The suffering I bring you is the bridge to ultimate peace."

  • Page from "The Destruction of the Current World Order" Manifesto written by John Lark and seen during Ethan Hunt's briefing.: "There has never been peace without first a great suffering, the greater the suffering, the greater the peace. It is the first step towards the ultimate brotherhood of man. The suffering I bring you is the bridge to ultimate peace. Today, mankind has been handed the opportunity to escape his destiny, an otherwise inevitable conclusion to a thousand years of intolerance and fear. I call all rationalists who can stand and join in the struggle against the radical theists, all of which fall beneath a common umbrella of ideology. If we were to continue any further we would reach mythology and Aesop's fables. When do we stop? Any belief in a spirituality with no other proof, other than the cravings to project one's self over the rational thinking of the others must be eradicated as it does not only halt progression and development of the human mind and reach, but also hinders it. Here I will emphasize clearly that the judgment upheld against us will be one of human hands, not of a god or other worldly being. Part of the absurd rational is what leads to the obscure justifications, the believers place upon their own disgraceful and belligerent behavior. No. The loss of human life cannot and will not be justified. For this is not the taking of human lives. They are merely puppets, hollow shells that were once human beings. Brainwashed by stories and tales of old, their weak minds have been overpowered by the pressure placed on them by other lifeless puppets. And so, the cycle continues."
