The dark humor of faith and science coexisting

The film is a good representation of the transitional period of God and Science in the 1930s in the United States when belief and human reason co-existed.

In the last paragraph of the film, the hero said: "There is a reasonable scientific explanation for what happened just now, and the South will soon change."

Immediately after seeing the cow on the roof, he said, "It won't change right away" and retracted his statement.

It shows that the Coen brothers feel that faith and reason still coexist in this land, as well as the existence of chance and uncertainty. Here, faith and reason are not the right answer. The only answer is to rely on fate as the three of them have experienced. its natural.

A lot of good music appeared in the movie, which also reflected the rise of American country music at that time.

This movie is not a comedy!

    1. Silently satirizes racism, politicians, reformation, religion; 2. Mississippi of all kinds; 3. The music is so good, I'm going to buy an original soundtrack before I get it! !

There is no doubt that the works of the Coen brothers are highly literary. This time, based on "The Odyssey", a very ironic black humor drama is constructed, wrapping a story that essentially reflects the bleak society in an absurd way. The strong drama at the end will carry the absurdity to the end, with a coherent style that goes beyond the volume that ordinary black humor can carry.
