Lee finally insisted on leaving his hometown. When Patrick asked him why he couldn't stay, Lee repeated the I can't beat it clip twice. I thought Lee was going to pull something else, but he honestly said, I just can't beat it.
I watched it twice on my computer last summer, and again in the movie theater. It's been a year and I still want to cry when I think of this scene. It may also be a reflection of my low period, so I feel the same way. It tells me that in the face of the pain in life and the mistakes I have made, I don't have to forgive myself.
