Does Ronit really love esti?

Esti is really distressing. Since Ronit came back, her eyes have nowhere to be placed, either avoiding Ronit or following Ronit; she is too aware of her infatuation with Ronit, but she pretends to be calm in front of her, even alienating; but whenever Ronit says to leave , she was overwhelmed, she would only say what.

But what about Ronit? Why can you be so unrestrained, you can just walk away? Is she in love with Esti, or is she just reminiscing about the past, or is it just a rebellion against traditional communities? Is her sex scene with Esti the same thing as her catharsis with a strange man in a bar after learning of her father's death? Well, that's certainly not the same thing, but it doesn't seem to mean the same thing to Ronit as it does to Esti. I can understand Ronit's silence after Esti asked "where can I go", but then, why did she want Esti to move to New York to be with her? I see a lot of inconsistencies in Ronit, and maybe Esti sees it too, so I decided not to go with her for now.

I think, Ronit loves Esti, after all, what is there not to love? But love is different for everyone. For Esti, who she loves defines who she is, Ronit was her whole world, and she's been waiting for Ronit to come back. For Ronit, since she was exiled from New York when she was young, it was terrifying, but also free, her world has suddenly broadened since then, she is self-reliant and has become a little famous (people in her hometown have also seen her posted photos ), she had many friends, was always busy (“i am hardly alone, i have a lots of friends”), and most importantly, she could unequivocally believe that her life in New York was happy. Didn't expect to see Esti again. So while Esti waited and even planned their reunion, for Ronit, it was a surprise. Ronit follows Esti's rhythm to make everything happen. There is nostalgia for the past, resistance to the repressed community, and even the intention to help Esti liberate her nature, but I would like to believe that it is because she fell in love with Esti again.

Only when Ronit realized his love for Esti, Esti also grew up, their love made her brave and free, but that infatuation was no longer Esti's whole world. Maybe they'll come together eventually, and there's still time.

Disobedience quotes

  • Ronit Krushka: Esti, do you think I should go back early?

Esti Kuperman: No... no. No, I don't think you should leave at all.

  • [first lines]

Rav Krushka: In the beginning, Hashem made three types of creatures, the angels, the beasts, and the human beings. The angels, He made from His pure word. The angels have no will to do evil. They cannot deviate for one moment from His purpose. The beasts have only their instincts to guide them. They, too, follow the commands of their maker. The Torah states that Hashem spent almost six whole days of creation fashioning these creatures. Then, just before sunset, He took a small quantity of earth and from it He fashioned man and woman. An afterthought? Or His crowning achievement? So, what is this thing? Man? Woman? It is a being with the power to disobey. Alone among all the creatures we have free will. We hang suspended between the clarity of the angels and the desires of the beasts. Hashem gave us choice, which is both a privilege and a burden. We must then choose the tangled life we live.
