If you want to classify this film, I believe everyone will classify it as a musical. I have no objection, but I think singing and dancing are only a form of expression of lines, and the history of the film's development is probably what the film wants to convey to the audience. Such films are usually dull and didactic, like "The Comet" or "Sunset Boulevard." In contrast, the entertainment elements of this film are prominent, and the seriousness is diluted. Not serious enough doesn't mean not great enough, "Sing in the Rain" is not "Spider-Man", and Jim Kelly is not Tobey Maguire. Some media said that even if Kim Kelly had only made one "Singing in the Rain", it was enough to establish his status. This film goes against tradition and introduces the transition of the film industry from the silent period to the sound period in a comedy way.
