One of David Fincher's most boring works. From the title, I thought it was a thriller, but it was actually just a battle of wits similar to "Home Alone".
Except for the beginning and end of the film, there are no exterior scenes at all. The brief footage explains that the story takes place in the metropolis of Manhattan, with a broad perspective overlooking the city center. The use of the lens is the highlight of this film. The movement of the lens is smooth in the limited space, and several groups of long lenses are extremely coquettish, pushing and pulling, moving vertically and horizontally.
In the three-story mansion of several hundred square meters, when the camera reached into the refuge room, it was immediately enveloped by a cramped atmosphere. A 2vs3 indoor duel between a mother and daughter and three stooges is like an intense game. From the "you come and I come" temptation to your life and death, you spent the whole night in several rounds of confrontation. The final "reverse water" has already paved the way, and the ending is also expected.
