Seriously talk about Hugo Weaving in this episode. I want to say that Hugo Weaving in this episode contributed the greatest performance of the show. Benny Glass, please don't spray. Benny is my life David. The first frontal face that appeared on the stage, only one expression was needed to show most of the character's personality, neurotic, crazy, completely written on the face
Standing on the balcony, you don't need a look, just a simple smile can make the maid and me in front of the screen tremble, every wrinkle is a play!
The little detail of pulling the earlobe hit me right away. This is one of Hitler's habits. An analysis of Hitler's article said that "it has a lot to do with the unhappy life experience of his childhood, which also reflects the characteristics of neuroticism", how similar it is to David's personality
When he abused his son for the first time in this episode, his expression was hideous, when Patrick ran away, he played the piano frantically, every muscle in his face was shaking, this person is crazy, neurotic
When he decided to sexually assault Patrick, there was a look of love in his eyes, yes, he did what he thought was best for Patrick, he thought it was good for Patrick, his mind was sick, what he thought was correct
Then there was the scene at the dinner table, he looked at the woman who had provoked him all day, his lips pursed tightly, he was satisfied to see the horrified expression on her face, and gave her the knife. Arguably the least accomplished guy at the table, but he smothered everyone with his terrifying spirit.
In the last remarks by Patrick's bedside, there was no face, only voice, and he used his voice to draw the most perfect ending to this episode and the most perfect label for this character. This can't help but remind me of V for Vendetta, Hugo Weaving, who made V live with his voice.
Above, I think that Hugo Weaving's performance in this episode is completely supernatural. As a supporting role, he overpowers the protagonist. Fortunately, Benny's acting skills are not bad, and he is still brilliant, looking forward to the next three episodes! The above are all my humble opinions, and the following is just an amateur viewing, and I hope God will not spray!
