The performance is at its peak, as if it was a real drug addict.

"Melrose" is adapted from Edward St. Aubin's autobiographical novel of the same name. It tells the story of the male protagonist Patrick Melrose who was born in an upper-class family. A story that also acquiesced to the situation.

After he became an adult, he was initially a drug addict who suffered from narcissism, schizophrenia, suicidal tendencies and other mental illnesses, and was also addicted to alcohol and drugs, but he eventually walked the road of self-redemption.

Benedict Cumberbatch was voted the sexiest man in readers' minds in a "Sexy Man" poll launched by The Sun, and his vote was even double that of second-placed Beckham: 7,115 votes and 3393 votes.

Benny tops the list not only because of his appearance, figure, and temperament, but also because of his deep voice, smart mind, and superb acting skills.

From "Hawking" to "Van Gogh: A Life in Pictures", "Sherlock", "The Imitation Game", "Doctor Strange", "Melrose" and last year's "Battle of Electricity" at the Toronto Film Festival, he has starred in Plenty of genius.

In the recent "Reunion 3", Dr. Strange, played by him, saw 14 million futures through the time gem, and he had a good idea and the overall situation.

"Melrose"'s Patrick is not a genius, but he is also a high-class man.

Benny's burly stature and noble temperament make him extremely suitable for this role. Once he stops there, he will have aristocratic demeanor, elegance and decency.

He's not playing Patrick, he's Patrick.

For example, the scene where he takes a bath with a cigarette in his mouth and the scene where he tops the wine with wine, the aura is extremely powerful.

At the same time, Patrick is also a very challenging character, with his contradictory heart and complex human nature.

He has a high status but is addicted to drugs. While paying attention to his image, he has to satisfy his own desires.

He had a dream but was opposed by his father. He clearly wanted to become a lawyer, but he had to obey his father's orders.

He hated his father and had to hide it in his heart. He wanted to tear his father to pieces, but he couldn't show it in front of his father's friends.

He is conceited and full of inferiority at the same time, he is extremely self-centered, and after all, he cannot withstand the blow of life...

When he called Johnny, faced with Johnny's "where did you call from" question, he replied: I called from the bottom of my life.

He wants to get rid of drug addiction and regain control of his life, but he has more than enough power. Thousands of words are turned into two lines of tears, and his acting skills are too powerful.

With such a complex role, only Benny may be able to handle it. If another person plays the role, the effect will be greatly reduced.

In addition to the symbol of aristocracy, Patrick also has several key words in this film: life style, tragic childhood, drug addiction.

He had just had sex with his girlfriend Debbie, and the scene changed and he had sex with another girl.

Not only that, but he also kept obsessed with the third girl, Marianne, and even had an inner play: In order to get Marianne, I would like to detox for eternity.

When dining with Marianne, he even wanted to give each other meperone, which could make them drowsy and unconscious, equivalent to "sweat medicine".

The TV series uses flashbacks to tell the story of Patrick's adulthood straight to the point, and then outlines his childhood life through flashbacks and lines.

The first scene is when Patrick received a notice of his father's death. His reaction was to laugh out loud, which was enough to show his hatred for his father.

Mixed emotions appeared on his face as he went to claim his father's body. He hated his father deeply, and now that his father finally passed away, he just felt that his wish had been fulfilled. When he saw the gecko on the wall, he recalled the situation of being abused by his father when he was a child. He no longer felt sorry for his father, but felt that he was too cheap. .

When he was rejected by Marianne, the pain was even more extreme.

Marianne was the straw that broke the camel's back, and Patrick started frantically destroying the urn, wanting to tear it apart and even throwing it out the window.

And all this behavior stems from Patrick's tragic childhood experiences.

In a flashback, David once brought little Patrick to the hotel and said, "Patrick, come and chat with your dear dad."

Little Patrick looked flustered and frightened, and we can guess that he was sexually assaulted by his father.

And when Patrick talks to people, we also learn that David discriminates against all women, including his mother. It seems that after little Patrick was sexually assaulted by his father, his mother could not help.

Therefore, Patrick took the road of drug use under domestic violence and abuse.

There are several episodes of drug use in the TV series, which really test acting skills.

The first is that when he tried to detox, it happened to be a traffic jam on the road. Under the strong contrast between the onset of drug addiction and the incessant traffic flow, he became more irritable, eager and impatient. Details such as shaking his legs, rubbing his hands, and swearing made the image of a drug addict vivid.

When meeting with Annie, he was addicted to drugs again, and his body was already weak. He finally couldn't bear to go to the bathroom to take drugs, and then his face was radiant and full of energy, as if he had been beaten by chicken blood.

Later, when he came to the slum to buy drugs, his suit and leather attire contrasted sharply with the dilapidated streets.

He left the luxuriously decorated hotel and came to the slums where he was smoky. Just to vent his addiction to drugs, he portrayed the experience of an aristocratic boy who was stumped by drugs.

This scene reminds me of the well-known "Trainspotting".

The hero Raiden's drug accidentally fell into the toilet, and he didn't hesitate to get into the toilet and fish it out. The attraction of drugs makes the messy toilets turn into luxurious bathing centers in an instant, which fully reflects the huge charm and sacred status of drugs to addicts.

Patrick's experience was the same as Raiden, who accidentally dropped the syringe down the toilet.

He immediately picked up the syringe, wiped it on his clothes carelessly, and hurriedly stabbed it at his arm.

However, the plot twists and turns, just at the last moment when Patrick is about to inject drugs, the toilet suddenly loses power, and the syringe has been used bluntly by everyone, and Patrick fails to pierce the blood vessel.

He asked the drug dealer to change a syringe, but the drug dealer was already in a coma.

It felt like an internet-addicted teenager who hadn't played games for a few years finally opened the game, but the power was suddenly cut off. That sense of despair made people want to die instantly.

Next, Patrick finally found another drug dealer, and the moment he injected heroin in his arm, he was ecstatic and intoxicated.

Immediately after the effect of the drug kicked in, he started dancing and chattering again.

Before boarding the plane, he decided to use up the rest of the drugs at one time, and the feeling of being drunk and intoxicated was displayed just right.

Benny's performance is on the verge of coming out, it's the pinnacle, as if he's really on drugs.
