I really like the characters in this movie. Elis and Neck are just two 14-year-olds, and Elis' parents are facing a divorce, but they're always on the same page about how they treat Elis. Elis likes May Pearl and realizes for the first time from Pearl that love is not so simple. Neck was raised by his uncle, who also silently cared about him behind his back, as well as Mud and his old friend Tom, who finally stepped forward to rescue him and Elis from danger. The only thing I don't understand is probably Juniper and Mud. She hasn't appeared since Mud told her It's over. Both of them probably have to look forward.
