The premiere was a boast of Dolby, Dolby Cinema is really a kind of enjoyment.
Then summarize the movie in one sentence: a large collection of American pre-pop culture easter eggs expressed through old-fashioned stories.
Let me talk about the advantages first, this movie will really make an otaku who understands American otaku feel very "warm." The movie is indeed interspersed with various easter eggs of pre-American pop culture, whether it is games or music, or film novels. Ninja Frog, Street Fighter, Halo, Mortal Kombat, Back to the Future, Galactica, Breakfast Club, Millennium Falcon, there are countless similar colored eggs. Last year, I just read a book about American otaku with a higher level of knowledge, "The Dating Guide for Otaku," and it does have a lot of similarities. In the United States, nerds like Nerd are not for everyone. Almost all of them are Geeks, so these people are really not good at socializing. This movie is estimated to make these Nerd groups feel a little warm.
At the same time, the movie did establish a correct value at the end-the game should return to reality after all. This is something I admire very much. After all, you should not be too proud of yourself.
Next, talk about why I gave 7 points.
First, this movie did not "play" to a pass. The game pays tribute to a lot of pre-American pop culture, but most of them are click-to-stop-I guess I didn't get the copyright. This has led to the whole movie that talks about "playing" games and "enjoying the fun of games" without many representative elements. There is no RPG ancestor Dungeons and Dragons, no chess games, no boardgame, no tcg, no Star Wars, or even Nintendo, Sony and Sega. That's right, the games that really leave us fun, you can't see them all in this movie.
That's the best player!
Second, the character image is too labelled and flat. The character is single to explosive. Good guys save the world, bad guys are selfish, and finally the bad guys are moved by the good guys and put down their butcher's knives. Excuse me, am I watching My Little Pony? If this story does not change the main line, wouldn’t it be better if you portray the characters more deeply? Or does it mean that you can't use stunning special effects to trick fools into paying? But since it is facing the Nerd group, you must be prepared to be questioned by Geek.
Third, the world view is super weird. In 2056 (right or so), there will be no new pop culture in the world, and still crazily obsessed with the cultural products of the 1970s in the United States? The game designer and chairman (a genius like Satoshi Iwata) actually transferred the fate of the company to a player who does not understand management? Everyone is busy intubating behind their heads, forgetting what life they are living in reality? The villain wants to gain benefits, but has always used proper means to compete with other players (not even a plug-in or scoring behavior)? People can’t be killed by a car with a vr on the street, and traffic will not be affected? A company that could blow up slums with explosives, kill people with guns and was not searched, was arrested by the police and ended its criminal career?
I have played many American games. In fact, most of the American cultural industry creators want to be gods, hoping to create a new world like Tolkien. Maybe the original novelist of this film thought so too, but it's a pity that the film is too superficial.
In short, the movie, Nerds are worth watching, please have a good time. If you’re not a fan of otaku culture, don’t watch it, it’s boring, so be it...
