Steve (Bill Murray) is a director of marine documentaries, and his works once filled the childhood of many children with dreamy colors. In a shoot, Steve's old friend died in the mouth of a jaguar shark, which made Steve so bad that he vowed to find the tiger shark and avenge his friend, and made this the subject of the new film. At the press conference, Steve met Ned (Owen Wilson), who claimed to be his son, and he invited the young man to join his creative team. Steve has to face many problems, lack of funds, a relationship with his wife, and the documentaries he shoots have gradually lost their appeal.
A reporter named Jenny (Cate Blanchett) joins Steve's team to write a biography of him, however, she doesn't get along well with Steve, but rather Ned got closer and closer, which made Steve jealous. At the same time, Ned's true identity also makes Steve suspicious. The arrival of a group of pirates completely ruined Steve's plan, and a crew member was kidnapped. Facing such a bad situation, can the battle-hardened Steve be able to complete his revenge plan?
