7/10
advantage:
1. Character shaping: The images of several main characters are relatively comprehensive, not simple black and white. For example, Theron is a so-called strong woman - from a small beauty pageant to a big one, as long as she is a winner; as soon as she opens her mouth, she is venomous and swearing. However, when the protagonist called to say that she had been kidnapped, she, who had been blackmailing the protagonist before, insisted on saving people back. As for the protagonist, he is a good man who obeyed his father's teachings and grew up in accordance with the rules, but finally took a different path under the stimulation of the outside world. Edgerton, the protagonist's friend, is a typical executive of an American company. He speaks fluently, but he can do anything for the sake of profit, and everything is self-centered; sometimes he just seems a little humane, but after a while, it becomes lower. There is no bottom line. Anyway, the characters are more interesting.
2. Theron's appearance: Goddess, you know.
3. Humor: Complementary to the characterization, I think the humorous sections of this film are handled better, at least it won't give you a murder atmosphere at a critical moment like The Last Jedi. Some jokes and bridges are also quite interesting and unique.
shortcoming:
1. Trailer fraud: To be honest, the trailer was cut so cheaply that it felt like it was another story. False advertising is really hard to prevent these days!
2. The plot is simple: the pace is too slow and it is easy to guess. Especially at the end, you can probably guess about half of the film.
3. Some characters are meaningless: There are several characters that are completely useless and have no idea why they were included in the film.
Gringo did address a social issue, though. There is a saying in China that "the golden belt of murder and arson, bridges and roads are built without corpses", which warns the world not to be superstitious in kindness. This movie, through the various injustices encountered by a "good guy" who has been following the rules since childhood, reflects a current social phenomenon in the United States, that is, "rewarding bad behavior." A little girl famous for insulting her relatives, received a lot of money and became a rapper; many rappers in the United States advertised violence, and even blatantly encouraged black people to attack the Chinese; honest people in the company did not get it When promoted, people who are good at stealing people's achievements and making good progress (there is a rumor in the company that there are similar rumors, and there are two kinds of colleagues in the same department). In short, good and evil are rewarded in today's society is simply a joke. This movie touched me deeply at this point, maybe I see mountains as mountains and water as water.
To sum up a sentence: there are not many things to watch, if you have to watch it, you must not be affected by the trailer, otherwise you will be disappointed.
