Because you are here and there you are everywhere

Hearing the gentle poem at the end of the film, my heart seemed to be gently held up with one hand, warm and safe.

There is no specific source for the poem, and most people believe it was written by the Islamic poet Rumi . For details, please refer to the discussion of the source of poetry by a group of academic tyrants: Del Toro-Shape of Water poem

The poem is beautiful, I try my best, I just hope to translate its gentleness. The poem has no name for the time being, so let it follow the name of the movie.

"The Shape of Water"

Can't touch your body and shape

I know that you exist all around me

Your appearance fills my eyes with love

My heart is humbled

Because you are here and there

You are everywhere

original

Unable to perceive the shape of You.

I find You all around me.

Your presence fills my eyes with Your love,

It humbles my heart,

For You are everywhere.

This is a movie that has moved me for a long time after "Pan's Labyrinth" , but I can't tell why it is.

Don't worry, I just planted the heart seedlings, and I will know what it is when it grows up.

  • Strickland: [to himself in the mirror] You deliver. You deliver, that's what you do, you deliver. Right? RIGHT?
