A Journey to Adulthood for Small Town Youth

I watched the movie "lady bird" during the Spring Festival holiday. It tells about the coming-of-age of young people in small towns in the United States. Coming-of-age is a genre film (or genre literature), and the theme is the growth process from children to adults, generally covering fifteen or sixteen years old to two years old. The early ten age group. A typical example is "sunny day".

The protagonist in the film is a high school student in Sacramento, a small town in the United States. Sacramento is an ordinary third-tier city where birds normally poop and lay eggs. There is nothing remarkable or special. As I watched the introduction, I thought, what amazing things can happen in Sacramento?

Sure enough, there were no surprises at the end of the whole film, but I was moved by surprise: the protagonist is an ordinary high school student with no outstanding talent; he comes from a low-middle-class family; he is in an ordinary middle school in an ordinary city. Anxiety, fantasy, vanity, disappointment, and eventual reconciliation that will be familiar to everyone who goes through it.

A story that has been told throughout human history. recommend.
