First film in February, mixed mood
This film is based on the "Winchester Mystery House" in San Jose, USA. The complex design of the house is very suitable for my taste, but it seems that there is nothing else.
Aside from the strong sense of inconsistency of "a ghost film based on real events", the beginning of this film is marked with "Inspired by actual event", but it does not see where the so-called "Inspired" is reflected. The Jump Scare in the film is badly used, and it usually gives the audience a feeling of "Oh, this is not normal, it should be a ghost."
Helen Mirren picked the lead for this film, but what I don't understand is that Jason Clarke gives me a sense of being offline. Is it because the salary has not been negotiated? And the reason why the child has been ghosted is not very clear.
The second half of the story has some Coco-like feelings (fortunately), but because the story is not full enough, the second half of the plot is a bit abrupt, which is also a flaw.
In short, this is a fairly decent horror film, but it's all in 2018, can you come up with some innovation...
