Tragedy in North and South Korea: Whales fight, prawns

Korean movies, the forest is not big, but there are all kinds of birds.

According to the "Historical Records", Chunyu Kun provoked the king of Chu. There was a big bird in the kingdom. It didn't fly or chirp for three years. Does the king know what kind of bird it is? The King of Chu said that if the bird does not fly, it will fly into the sky;

Since the blockbuster "The Defender", there has been little news of director Yang Yushuo. Four years have passed, and movie fans have been anxiously waiting, thinking that the classics are irresistible. Unexpectedly, when 2018 is approaching, Yu Shuo returns and produces another smashing movie - "Iron Rain".

"The Defender" is based on South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, a lawyer with a sense of justice, facing power and defending the constitution, which is still somewhat idealistic. The new film "Iron Rain" takes it a step further, using the grand narrative of the North Korean nuclear crisis to completely tear open the scars of the domestic and foreign affairs of the two Koreas.

"Iron Rain" is adapted from the comic "Steel rain". Although it is fictional, the background of the times can be seen at a glance. The old king (Kim Jong-il) died, the new master was unstable, the people's hearts were floating, and the high-level mutiny. The assassinated No. 1 in the movie has never shown his face, but looking at his body shape, he is undoubtedly Zheng Eun.

The fictional plot reveals the real situation of North and South Korea: South Korea and North Korea, one developed and the other backward, the other centralized and the democratic, seem to be high and low, but they are actually brothers and sisters.

North Korea is self-respecting with its nuclear weapons, and it swears harsh words at every turn. It feels very ferocious. In fact, it is stern, and it depends on the face of Big Brother (China). As for South Korea, no matter how developed the economy is, if there is no American father in charge, facing the military and military brother North Korea, going to the street to buy a kimchi would have to be apprehensive.

In the film, the leaders of the United States and South Korea hold a video conference, and the thin and weak South Korean president forms a strong contrast with the tiger-backed American president. The two had a disagreement. Although President Han was reluctant and looked constipated, in the end he had to follow Uncle Sam's lead. Similarly, the strongman who launched the coup in North Korea, not afraid of the threat of the United States, aimed its nuclear warhead at Japan, and said that the war would start, but when China called, he immediately persuaded.

When the two children fight, as long as the parent behind them doesn't speak, there is usually nothing serious. The so-called North Korea nuclear crisis, to some extent, is nothing but a storm in a water glass.

Although the situation is stronger than people, both South Koreans and North Koreans are still "kinds". Aside from their ideological differences, their nationalist spirits are similar, and their attitudes are the same when it comes to their old enemy, Japan.

The protagonist of "Iron Rain", Guo Zheyu, the chief advisor of the diplomatic security of the Blue House, a greasy fat man who likes to eat hamburgers and fries, told his students a wonderful theory: The Korean Peninsula has been occupied by the Japanese for 36 years. After gaining independence, South Korea responded by trying to catch up and surpass in terms of industrial technology, while North Korea's strategy was to develop nuclear weapons that could severely damage Japan.

The most thought-provoking sentence in the whole film comes from Guo Zheyu's mouth: The people do not suffer because of the division of the country, but it is those careerists who regard division as a political means who bring more pain to the people.

Indeed, apart from the hatred deliberately created by the rulers to maintain the regime, the people of South Korea and North Korea are compatriots of the same water, how can there be so many insoluble problems?

Guo Zheyu, a public servant from South Korea, and Yan Tieyou, a big domestic expert from North Korea, are the epitome of blood thicker than water in North and South Korea.

The rivalry of the two is very warm. Yan Tieyou's daughter is a fan of GD. When Guo Zheyu played GD songs in the car and twisted his body to the rhythm, Yan Tieyou was confused. Is this a world-class song? When Yan Tieyou said that North Korea had dug a secret tunnel to Seoul, Guo Zheyu joked, you probably grew up eating voles, otherwise how could you dig such a deep tunnel?

Guo Zheyu made an agreement with Yan Tieyou that after the reunification of North and South Korea, the two would settle in one urban area and drink two taels of soju if they had nothing to do, which is nonsense.

It is a pity that ideology is both an illusory mist and an iron curtain that is impenetrable. The warmth between individuals is simply vulnerable in the face of the bloodthirsty state machine. In the end, in order to solve the nuclear crisis, Yan Tieyou risked his life, and the original agreement came to nothing.

Even the most egotistical individualists have to admit that sometimes the fate of an individual is inseparable from the rise and fall of a nation. The situation of North Korea and South Korea is similar to that of the small countries that survived in the cracks of great powers in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period.

Although "Iron Rain" is fictional, it is clearly a reality. What "Iron Rain" depicts is not superficial historical facts, but the inner logic of the disputes between North and South Korea.

There is an old saying in North Korea that when a whale fights, the shrimp will suffer.

This was the phrase that was uttered on the lips of South Korean President Syngman Rhee in the first few years after the Korean War.

After Japan's defeat in the war, North Korea ushered in the opportunity for independence, but the people were divided, and there were differences between the North and the South. There is Syngman Rhee in the south, and Kim Il Sung in the north. These two fierce men, neither will let anyone else, they all want to dominate the rivers and mountains.

Let's talk about Syngman Rhee first, this old man is as his name suggests, and he is really a late bloomer.

As early as 1919, at the age of forty-four, Syngman Rhee was elected president by a group of Korean nationalists. With the title of President near him, Syngman Rhee was so excited that he immediately applied for a passport and prepared to attend the Paris Peace Conference. Who would have thought that the then U.S. President Wilson, who thought he was just a name, didn't even let in the door.

After being closed, Syngman Rhee was depressed for a long time, and did not become active again until after World War II, but this time, he got strong support from the United States.

The reason why the United States supports Syngman Rhee is not unrelated to his Christian status. Since the defeat of Christian Jiang Moushi, the support of Jiang in American public opinion has shifted to Li. In 1948, with the support of the United States, Syngman Rhee was re-elected president and announced the establishment of the Republic of Korea on August 15. At this time, he was an old man in his seventies.

Let alone Kim Il-sung.

Kim Il Sung is thirty-seven years younger than Syngman Rhee, and he has so many titles in his life that he is rarely matched in the real world.

Kim Il-sung's titles include, but are not limited to: Great Leader, God-given General, World's Most Famous Writer, Guardian of Our Planet, God of the Gods, Sharpshooter of Taepo-dong, Inventor of the World's Great Opera, A complete golfer, a philosophical giant with encyclopedic knowledge, a master of art and architecture, the greatest musical genius of mankind, the embodiment of human wisdom...

It can be seen that both Syngman Rhee and Kim Il Sung are both Each has its own unique skills, and it is by no means a fuel-efficient lamp. But still the same sentence, the situation is stronger than people, and the not very broad land under their feet determines the height at which they are not embarrassed or embarrassed.

In the eyes of the United States and the Soviet Union, "King of the North" Kim Il Sung and "South Batian" Syngman Rhee are nothing but shrimp.

When a whale fights, it will bring disaster to the shrimp, and in turn, when the shrimp fights, sometimes they also ask the whale to help.

Khrushchev mentioned in his memoirs that before the Korean War broke out, Kim Il Sung, the god of the gods, had "condescended" to visit Stalin and told him that the North Koreans wanted to stab South Korea with the tip of a knife. Stalin said that you have to give a specific plan when to stab and how to stab. A few months later, Kim Il Sung entered the palace for the second time, patted his chest and said that he could kill Syngman Rhee in a short period of time.

Before his battle with South Korea, the god of the gods, Kim Il Sung, visited Mao Zedong in addition to Stalin.

And Syngman Rhee, who was a late bloomer, also did something similar. Once, Syngman Rhee entertained the U.S. ambassador at the Blue House and exchanged a cup with the ambassador, saying that his boys had just occupied Haizhou, north of the 38th parallel.

As a result, the two shrimps of North Korea and South Korea, together with the three whales of China, the United States and the Soviet Union, fought a chaotic battle, each with their own winners and losers. This is the Korean War in history. Of course, the shrimps have a heart, and the whales are not stupid, they all involve their own interests.

It was not South Korea and North Korea that determined the outcome of the Korean War, but China, the Soviet Union and the United States. The final result, which seemed to be a draw, was in fact the United States lost.

America's first mistake was the wrong use of MacArthur.

In Joseph Gulden's "The Korean War: The Untold Truth," it was revealed that U.S. military commander MacArthur was, to some extent, a psychopath. MacArthur has a quirk. On countless nights, he called his friend Davis into the living room, and in front of him, he pulled out a loaded revolver, like Xianglin's wife, and told him that he did not deserve his current position and glory. . He only got to where he is today because of his mother's expectations. He was afraid of encountering an insurmountable obstacle and then plummeting to the ground, and the only way to get a moment of peace of mind was to point the gun at his temple.

The second mistake of the United States is that they do not understand Mao Zedong.

The tactics of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea generally followed Mao Zedong's military strategy. Mao Zedong's methodology can be summed up as follows: if the enemy advances, we retreat; if the enemy is stationed, we will disturb; if the enemy is tired, we will fight; if the enemy retreats, we will pursue. This tactic, obtained from actual combat experience, produced and sold by itself, is not recognized by the class of West Point Military Academy, but it has become famous in the annals of irregular warfare.

At that time, the US military and the intelligence system knew very little about Mao Zedong's philosophy. According to Edward Kazbach, an expert on irregular warfare, Mao Zedong's military treatises are widely circulated in communist countries around the world, but for various reasons, they have not reached the US military. In fact, except for a few scattered pamphlets, Mao's writings are nowhere to be found in the United States, including the Library of Congress.

In the later period of the Korean War, the United States not only could not take advantage of it, but also caused domestic complaints due to the protracted war. In the end, only nuclear weapons were used as a deterrent, and a truce negotiation was proposed.

It can be said that if there is no atomic bomb as a bargaining chip, North Korea is likely to have been unified. This is the root cause of the later North Korean government's insistence on developing the atomic bomb. Of course they are wrong. America is not strong because of the atomic bomb.

At the end of the movie "Iron Rain", Guo Zheyu said, divide North Korea's nuclear bombs into half of us. Only in this way, once a war breaks out, North and South Korea will be completely destroyed. To avoid such consequences, we must usher in an era of peace.

This monologue reminds me of Russell's words: If the world war breaks out again, the balance of terror will be broken, no one will abide by the nuclear ban agreement, and every party involved in the war will produce a large number of hydrogen bombs and atomic bombs. In a war using atomic and hydrogen bombs, there can never be any winner. As a member of the earth, we either choose to live together or choose to die together.

In front of a nuclear bomb, all the whales add up to just shrimp.
