There are many classic lines in "The Wire". Almost every character who is slightly portrayed has a unique understanding of life, but if it comes to a sentence that can run through the whole play, it is not the one Omar said " The game is the game." It must be. This game that envelops the entire city gives everyone their due role based on their identity, and also sets the rules that each role must follow. Outside of the rules, there is an abyss.

Dee is the first person in the play to fall into the abyss.

His experience has nothing to do with everything he has endured, but just because he is a drug dealer who is not cruel and decisive enough. The soul transformed into sensitivity and kindness cannot cope with the dance on the blade. He was stuck between his identity and his heart, a dilemma, and eventually died because of it. No one will not admit that Dee is a good person, but as Omar said, this is Ba City after all, "The game is the game."
