Fine shard disguised as a time-space cycle (4 stars)

Another brain-burning fine-grained film, welcome to the series "Don't read film reviews and don't understand the plot". After seeing so many movie reviews, I feel that I didn't really fully understand this movie, so I wrote an article to analyze it.
I personally think that Dark country should not be translated as dark country, country is more suitable to be translated as country road, so it would be better to translate the title of the film into dark road.
The reason for giving 4 stars is that the disguise of "Time Loop" is so good that many people think it is the "Terrorist Cruise" type after reading it, but it is actually the road version of "Mulholland Drive". But I didn't notice the rich details at first, and the plot was a little boring, so I deducted one star. Everyone was arguing about whether this movie was a fine film or a sci-fi movie. The movie seems to have an open setting. The truth is hidden in the seemingly inadvertent and flashing shots. detail.
1. Regarding when the heroine died, the answer can be obtained from the clothes of the heroine after she was dug up. When it was just excavated, the clothes were changed after the bloody face was buried, and then the camera cut to the collapsed face of the male protagonist and then back to the corpse of the female protagonist. The clothes became the nightdress she wore at the beginning, so the female protagonist is Before dying to change clothes, the so-called corpse with bloody face buried is just the fantasy of the male protagonist. Because the bloody face was himself, and when he went back to get his watch later, he found that the hole had not been filled at all. As for when the heroine will die, I prefer to die in the first place.
In fact, the male protagonist is a morbid serial killer. The good and evil in his heart split into different personalities in the constant battle. On the one hand, the killer personality satisfies the unstoppable desire to kill, and on the other hand, the kind personality keeps trying to prevent himself from killing.
The dialogue in the male protagonist's heart at the beginning is very neurotic, "You don't know how it all started, but you can guess the ending", "It's all over now", implying the completion of another murder. "If you knew what would happen later, would the ending be different? Do you think you can save her? Do you think you can save yourself?" This is due to the contest between the male protagonist's inner conscience and the desire to kill. The plot is the male protagonist's chaotic mental journey.
The dark zone is a reflection of the dark side of his heart, so entering the dark zone means that he is mentally ill, and then split personalities will appear one by one.
The main character of the male protagonist is a person with a blond complex, and he has a deep hatred for women subconsciously. In his eyes, all the blondes look like the heroine (hallucination), and they are all flirtatious and capricious.
2. How many split personalities there are. He has 2 more important sub-personalities split out, one is a kind bloody face, and the other is a killer personality that does not appear in the film from beginning to end.
The male protagonist knows in his heart that he is a serial killer who killed many blonde women, but his main character does not want to bear the truth that he is a murderer, so the split "killer" personality replaces himself to kill and vent his inner desire to kill. And the bloody face is the "goodness" in the male protagonist's heart. He wants to stop himself from killing again, so there is the monologue of the male protagonist at the beginning. After the male protagonist kills the female protagonist, the bloody face's personality is about to emerge to stop him. The so-called Entering the time and space cycle is the remorse and self-blame of the male protagonist after killing people, hoping that a kind personality will prevent him from killing himself. But in the end, after the male protagonist turned into a bloody face, a new cycle began again, indicating that the evil thoughts were not successfully prevented from killing, and a new victim had been born. The woman in the co-pilot at the end couldn't see what clothes she was wearing at first, but she could see that her hair was curly, while the heroine's hairstyle in the co-pilot at the beginning was straight. So the woman at the end is another woman, but after the light of the street light came in, the woman's appearance changed to that of the heroine again. This is because the male protagonist's blonde complex made him see that all the victims were the female protagonist. look.
If the bloody face is the character of the male protagonist, why can women see it in the car? Because this woman is just a fantasy of the male protagonist. Women are already dead, and everything related to women is the fantasy of the male protagonist, which explains why the female protagonist's behavior is capricious and incoherent, and sometimes the style of painting is weird, because this is what the male protagonist thinks of women. image projection. After killing the blood face, the female protagonist had blood on her hands, and she had a dispute with the male protagonist about the disposal of the corpse. Then when the male protagonist said that the corpse was to be buried, the female protagonist's painting style changed abruptly. She lowered her head like a zombie, and the blood on her hands disappeared. not see. These details are all hints.
As for the police, I tend to think that they are also the male protagonist's good character splitting out to stop himself from doing evil. But unfortunately, in the end, the good was invincible, the good still let the evil run away, and at the end, the male protagonist found that he had turned into a bloody face again. The conflict between good and evil in his heart continues, as does the so-called "reincarnation".
Unless the male protagonist is caught in reality, or dies, this morbid serial killer cannot stop.
So this movie is actually showing the inner conflict of a mental illness, not a runaway reincarnation, but the director's skills are so good, so many people have been deceived. So although the plot is a little dull, and you can't understand it without reading the movie reviews, and you can't notice the flashing details at first, this movie is still a work worthy of recommendation for fans of psychology and suspense.

Dark Country quotes

  • Gina: [as they drive on with their bloodied passenger in the back] It's your fault, you know. You're the one who's driving, you should know where we're going.

Dick: Hey, whoa, somebody messed with the road signs or something.

    Gina: [sarcastic] Right.

Dick: Something. I'm telling ya, I didn't make a wrong turn.

    Gina: [raising her eyes] Jesus.

Dick: So what if I did? This guy would be dead if we hadn't come along! Is this how you handle stress? Just go on the attack?

Gina: We're lost in the desert in the middle of the fucking night. This guy is gonna die if we don't get him help.

Dick: Thank you for the support.

    [adding disapprovingly:]

    Dick: All the same.

Gina: "All"? What's that supposed to mean, "all"? Who all?

[behind her, the bloodied man comes to, and sits upright]

Gina: Not the first impulse you've made on this little drive? Huh?

[and then she looks into his bloodied face]

  • Bloodyface: [as the car speeds along] Okay, Dick. I've got a little question for ya. You ready?

    [Dick frowns]

Bloodyface: You ever been to Cheetahs?

    Dick: Cheetahs? What's that?

Bloodyface: A little strip club... downtown Vegas.

[clearly hitting on a nerve with Gina]

Dick: Can't say that I have.

Bloodyface: That's too bad, you know. It's a nice place. There are good girls there.

Gina: [whirling around] Who are you talking about?

Bloodyface: They're just doing what they have to do to survive. Right?

Dick: Hey, pal, what are you saying? You trying to freak us out?

Bloodyface: I'm sorry, man. I didn't mean to upset you. It's just... it's been a little bit of a rough night, you know?

    [silent as he smokes]

    Bloodyface: For all of us.

Dick: All right, buddy, all right. Hey, you'd better tell us what happened back there, huh?

Bloodyface: [long silence] Have you ever been murdered before?
