"Total Eclipse of the Heart" is a suspenseful crime film directed by the Polish New Wave female director Agnieszka Holland, adapted from the novel of the Polish national treasure female writer Olga Dokasho. It tells the story of a 60-year-old English teacher in Poland. Taking care of a holiday house in the forest, but more and more hunters are mysteriously dying in the forest, and the police seem to be helpless. The film uses animal protection as the surface to reflect some injustices of this weak group in society. In order to satisfy their ugly desires, men (powers) abuse not only animals, but also disadvantaged groups such as women and children.
