The story takes place in ancient Rome. A subordinate of the new governor of Jerusalem, the tribune Misara triumphantly returned to her hometown and met her childhood friend Ben Hur. As a wealthy and powerful Jewish family, Ben-Hur's words and deeds have a certain weight in his own nation. Misara hoped to use Ben-Hur's influence to control the Jewish minds and subject the Jews to the rule of the Roman Empire. But Ben-Hur refused to betray his nation and compatriots, and the two friends broke up. The new governor led his subordinates to patrol the streets, and Ben Hur's sister accidentally knocked down the tile and smashed the governor while watching it on the roof. Under Misala's conspiracy, Ben-Hur's family was convicted of treason. Since then, Ben-Hur has lost his freedom and news of his family. He was sold to a warship and started a 3-year slave life.
