In all fairness, this film failed in two points: 1. The male protagonist has no aura, no acting skills, no looks, no muscles; 2. The drag racing scene focuses on drifting and loses a beautiful sense of speed. "Initial D", which also uses drift as its selling point, has done a good job in these two points, at least letting the audience know that drift and speed should not be relative. In particular, I don't like the scene of drifting in a narrow parking lot. The flow and speed are not good enough. I can't feel the pleasure of drifting at all, I just think it is "ugly". Even if it is to highlight the incompetence of the male protagonist, it should not be so restrained.
