The town is shrouded in thick milky fog, mysterious creatures threaten the lives of the residents, and whether the hero, who is regarded as a hero, can lead the residents to escape, the ending is icy and desperate.
At the end of the movie, it is not accidental that the most heroic male protagonist wasted on life and even killed his parents by mistake. Because the theme of the movie is not a thriller but a reflection, a human self-deprecation: we are ignorant, and what we don't know can scare us dehumanizing. On the surface it seems that the male lead is braver, calmer and wiser than the others. But in fact he is not fundamentally different from those with obvious flaws. When he ran out of gas, he began to count the bullets, and soon after counting, he killed. Why so fast? Even if they really only have one dead end left, why not wait until they are too hungry to support it or when a beast strikes, then even if they still die, at least they can live a little longer? After a while, there will be more hope. Isn't this the hope that they ran out to pursue after all the hardships? But he did it anyway, and others died of his faith crisis.
