Now Gayu is a reporter through and through in the film, but it can still be seen from the details that in the original setting, Gayu is probably pretending to be a reporter in order to conceal the identity of the police. Some of the following are obvious:
1. When the reporter met Ritai for the first time, he was very inexperienced in answering questions. He seemed stunned that he needed a letter of introduction for the interview. . . How can a reporter do that. . .
2. He has two notebooks, one is a notebook with newspaper clippings in it, which should belong to reporters. There is something similar to the file page in the other book, in the form of a table, with a one-inch ID photo of Japan and Thailand, and some other photos, and even a photo of the death scene of the mountain patrol at the beginning of the film. The records in the file are very detailed. Once, the daughter of Japan and Thailand entered the reporter's room alone. When she came in, the reporter quickly closed the file, but she was not prevented from reading the reporter's clippings. And the reporter said at once "You are Ritai's daughter, right?" (there is no hint of the girl's identity).
3. In a field trip, under the stars, a mountain patrol team member chatted with a reporter. The team member mentioned the disappearance of a geologist here. The reporter did not speak up, but his expression was a bit complicated. Judging from the reporter's reaction and expression, he clearly knew this matter. If it's a real reporter, whether he knows about it or not, it shouldn't behave like this.
4. Once caught poaching in the middle, the patrol team gave the reporter a pistol and asked him to help control a poacher temporarily. The reporter took the gun and paused. The next time the camera came back to him, he was already very skilled. control the prisoner. Later, there were one or two cases where the reporter took the gun. The reporter never asked the mountain patrol team how to use the gun, but took it directly. Of course, you can also say that the film did not act in this process, ... even if it is my obscenity.
5. Finally, this is the most straightforward evidence: the mountain patrol team was short of money, and Ritai asked the team to sell skins. The reporter asked Ritai: "Selling skins is against the law. I always thought I was a good reporter, but How should this report be written?". Ritai replied: I know you are a reporter, and we are protected by your reporters in Hoh Xil. ,
This conversation is already obvious. It mentions "good reporters, protection, and prisons". In fact, Ritai already knows what Gayu does, and the reporter also knows that Ritai knows (it's easy to get around), but they didn't tell each other, everyone. You can try to replace the "reporters" here with "policemen", it will be very clear, and the irony will be stronger.
Of course, the film is not for us to guess these, but to completely remove the character that the reporter is a policeman, but after all, it is difficult to remove it completely. The reason for this is unknown, I guess it may be to highlight the theme of public welfare, and to weaken something acerbic. I really want to know what the original version looks like. The original intention of the reporter was to investigate the mountain rangers (rather than to learn about illegal poaching), right? In this way, the original contradiction and the thinking it caused may be more intense, and it may also touch more things.
