My Neighbor Totoro is full of innocence and fun, so that the corners of the mouth are raised while watching. Hayao Miyazaki combined the traditional Japanese mythology with the innocence and kindness of children, telling an enchanting story that is still outdated even if viewed thirty years later. The refinement of the details, the black and white in the shadows, and the dust in the stains all make this animated movie so exquisite. Of course, Joe Hisaishi's soundtrack makes people more integrated into the beauty of the movie.
Outside of fairy tales, it is a true depiction of experience. What is childhood in memory, Hayao Miyazaki gave his answer. I always feel that this film is like a fairy tale Hou Xiaoxian's work. When fantasy replaces sadness, what remains is the best memory. Besides, what kind of beauty is not modified? In fact, life has always been like this, the difference between sorrow and joy, but when you choose to remember something, forget something.
