I feel that although the film is a bit contrived in structure, it is in place in terms of story and characterization. I don't think it's a catholic, or even a fixed religion, critical film. It criticizes an ideology that uses religious freedom to create isolationism, and its most typical example is the fundamentalism and the most traditional branches of various religious sects. They rely on the environment of religious freedom to survive and be tolerated, but they themselves are constantly creating extremes and even self-harm. For example, in this story in the movie, it is completely understandable that Maria was indirectly killed by her own mother.
My only doubt is the last shot. I think a good lens movement is to create a three-dimensional effect of the picture, and at the same time, let the viewer feel that it is not moving. If a rocker comes up and everyone wows and sees a rocker coming up, that's a failed shot. From this point of view, although I can fully understand why the final shot is going up, I can totally feel the mood, but this is still a failed shot. (Towel City)
