We have all had this dream. There is almost no conflict in "My Neighbor Totoro", which is unique in Miyazaki's work. When the corn was about to mature, the father took his two daughters to the house in the country, waiting for the mother who was about to be discharged from the hospital. It's that simple, all the stories revolve around these two four-year-old and twelve-year-old girls. Cleaning the house, going to school, planting trees, visiting my mother, getting lost, maybe, these simple things have been done in our teenage summer vacation. Even the appearance of My Neighbor Totoro is not surprising. Haven't we also dreamed about it. There is a huge and boundless friend who takes us through the dense forest and flying over the green cornfield. One of the happiest things for people is to relive their previous dreams, not to mention the pure dreams of childhood without any impurities. So when the movie is over, don’t leave in a hurry. When we grow up, we have forgotten our childhood dreams. The movie helps us find it back. With our eyes closed, do we smell the grass and dirt by the river again? Miyazaki said: "In our countryside, there is a kind of magical elves. They live and play around us just like our neighbors. But ordinary people can’t see them. It’s said that only children are innocent. The evil minds can capture their signs. If you calm down and listen, you can faintly hear the sound of their running in the wind." But I am afraid that the children wrapped in reinforced concrete and electronic toys have lost the ability to communicate with the elves. Hayao Miyazaki has always shown the conflict between mankind and nature in his works. Although there is no confrontation in "My Neighbor Totoro", there is only idyllic beauty, but he has also placed his own philosophy here: only a clean childlike heart can make a difference. Feel the beauty of nature without desire and realize the harmony between man and nature. Therefore, the protagonist in his works is always a young man, and this old man who has passed away from ancient times still has a young heart. My Neighbor Totoro appeared only four times in the movie. The first time was when Xiaomei got into a tree hole, the second time was when the sisters got off the sign in the rain while waiting for the bus, and the third time was when the oak tree in the courtyard sprouted. The second time was when Xiaoyue looked for Xiaomei who was lost. It is like Santa Claus in the minds of western children, it does not appear frequently, but it brings you happiness .
