It's bloodier and darker than any Alien movie before it. It is reflected in the following aspects: there are many pictures of alien creatures burrowing out of the human body and pictures of cannibalizing humans, six or seven games, each of which is very bloody, and the poor crew members died so ugly. The bloody organs and limbs are featured many times. For example, a girl's head is estimated to be shot four times; secondly, the atmosphere of the whole film is depressing, downright creepy and desperate. In addition, the planet created by the film is not only a cemetery, but also a monster laboratory. The atmosphere is very close to the anatomy building of the medical school. This scene is expected to be turned into a Halloween haunted house in the future, which will bring a good horror experience. [Laughs cry]
For Chinese audiences, most of the bloody scenes are a few seconds, even if they are deleted, it will not change too much in the length of the film. After reading it, you may think that it is not as bloody as I said, but the gloom is still there.
The story takes place ten years after "Prometheus", and will explain the whereabouts of the robot David played by Fa Shark at the end of the film and the female doctor Shaw. Guy Pearce finally had a chance to say to a French shark about his age: "I'm your dad." This line. David faces a new generation of robot Walter who looks just like him. The two sharks have a lot of confrontation, including some surprising "interactions" (girls, please prepare to scream) to express David's more human qualities.
The two robots look almost the same, but the microsecond difference can still be seen under the performance of the hair shark. However, it is best to review Prometheus in advance to better distinguish the two roles. Otherwise, you may be confused after walking out of the theater. I saw an old granny trying to tell an old uncle, "This is David, that's Walter" outside the theater. Grandpa: "who?".
The special effects are still the highlight of the film, but the special effects of this film serve the degree of horror, so it may not bring beauty, but it will make people chill, and it is still dominated by dark tones. The alien is naturally no longer the one played by the old version of the real person, but a CGI. The more mucus is more disgusting, and it is still difficult to see the details when the action is fast. The new female Katherine Waterston basically conforms to the inherent female protagonist of the Alien series, with a bitter face, short hair, and pale complexion. She is very suitable for horror movies and is more suitable for action scenes than Noomi Rapace.
If you want to judge whether you can accept this film, you can first look at another #Alien Awakening# (Life) released this year, which is somewhat similar, the monsters are sticky and powerful. It's just that #Alien:Contract# has a heavier taste, and every now and then it's just spraying blood and guts all over the place.
What's more dissatisfying is that Ridley Scott's spaceship is always full of weird people, and there are always pig-like teammates who somehow got in. For example, this time, Danny McBride, a fat buddy with a beard and a cowboy hat, plays the pilot. However, this does not seem to meet the standard of being an astronaut at all, and his body shape and temperament are not compatible with other crew members, and he feels like [Tan Shou] from other films. The acting captain is even more timid and lacks basic sanity. A previously exposed stills indicated that James Franco, whose IQ was limited at first glance, appeared among astronauts. He's actually just a cameo, appearing within the first five minutes of the film. So don't go late or you won't see him).
Personally, I feel that this film can already replace the previous old version of Alien, and cater to a new wave of audiences with heavier tastes. And successfully transferred the main relationship of the story from aliens and earthlings to human beings and their own creations: the story of love and killing between robots, and the alien monsters just turned into tools, giving the story a deeper meaning. Just hope the quality of the crew in the future can be improved a bit.
If you've never seen any Alien before, I think it's better to at least watch Prometheus after taking a lesson
