I haven't read the original novel of "Cloud Atlas". In fact, the film itself is not difficult to understand, but to discover its inner connection and explore the theme it needs to express, it requires constant attention.
It can be said that Yuntu is the most ambitious movie I have ever seen. The epic plot can be smoothly edited under precise editing, and the theme of the movie can also be immersed in deep thinking.
Yuntu's plot story itself is not really mysterious.
The first story is the story of Adam Ewing in the Pacific, with Jim Sturges playing Adam. It is about Adam looking for a new world in the Pacific, and saving a black slave because he couldn't understand the abuse of black slaves. As a result, the black slave discovered that the doctor had poisoned Adam with chronic poison. The Chinese doctor in this passage is played by Tom Hanks.
The second story is the story on Sidheim Manor. A musician played by Ben Westshaw helped another musician played by Jim Brodbent (actually his father). The musician played by Browderbent has only some musical randomness. In the end, the musician played by Ben Westshaw was expelled by the musician played by Jim Broadbent because of his homosexuality, and the old musician wanted to capture the results of the Yuntu Sixt. In the end, the young musician committed suicide after leaving behind "Yuntu Sixtet". In this story, the musician saw the diary of Adam Ewing left by the previous story on the shelf.
The third story is about Luisa Ray. The role played by Halle Berry heard in the third story "Cloud Atlas Sixt" in the second story. In this story, she fell in love with a physicist who was killed after discovering that a nuclear power plant would leak. She was helped by the role played by Tom Hanks in avenging her lover.
The fourth story is about Timothy Cavendish. It is about the publisher Timothy Cavendish, who was hunted down by the underworld, being placed under house arrest in a nursing home. The publisher is played by Jim Browderbent. Before the underworld chase, he received the novel of the last story, which is "Louisa Ray's First Mystery".
The fifth story is about Xingmei-451, played by Pei Douna. The story tells that in the future, humans will control a large number of clones. Xingmei wanted to rebel against humans and fight for freedom for the clones. She and the rebels jointly launched an uprising, and the uprising failed. She watched a movie in this story, and the content of the movie is the story of Timothy Cavendish.
The sixth story is about Zachary, the shepherd played by Tom Hanks. It is said that mankind will return to a similar primitive society in the future. Zakri’s people were killed, and only two survived. He passed the recorder that recorded the story about Xingmei 451 to future generations.
The story narration mode is very novel. All the six stories are only half-telled, and then the narration is returned from the back to the front. By the second half of the sixth story, all the previous stories began to look back.
So do not hold a dull heart to see this movie, you will definitely story is not particularly attractive, and his story, this is not a story of a cicada
Stellar 451 stories of recorders thrust reversers to fifth A story, the fifth story The movie that Xingmei has seen goes back to the fourth story, and the fourth story he received returns to the third story. Louisa gets the diary of Adam in the first story.
The plot is like a loop. The first story has already laid the groundwork for the death of human society in the sixth story, and in my opinion, the theme of the film is probably a kind of resistance. Reincarnation may not be the subject of this story, but merely a way of narrative. What the film wants to express is that the evil of mankind will make us reincarnate in these six stories, but kindness or rebellious evil may be able to make us break out of all these cycles. Human beings have been developing in this kind of resistance to fate. The last note of "Yuntu Sixtet" is deliberately inaccurate, which means rebelling against fate or hopefully being able to jump out of all this cycle.
The six stories are all a kind of resistance, and perhaps human beings are constantly struggling in the fate of resistance. At the end of the film, it says that we may be a drop of water in the ocean, but without a drop of water, there would be no ocean. This should imply that the fate of mankind is not determined by one or two people, but if you and I can stand up and fight, maybe the fate will be different. Probably different people will think differently when watching this film. It may be love, hope, destiny, life or courage. But in any case, this film can give us many people's thinking about life problems.
