The film mainly tells about the situation of the German Auschwitz concentration camp in World War II. The young boy Bruno's family followed the father of the Nazi officer to move to the vicinity of the Auschwitz concentration camp, but Bruno thought it was a strange farm because everyone wore blue Striped pajamas. Bruno and Himmel, a young boy on the farm, became good friends. One day, Bruno got into the concentration camp wearing striped pajamas, but unfortunately happened, the two of them were pushed into the gas chamber. The father cried out his son's name in desperation, and the mother fell to her knees on the icy ground, crying aloud. At the end of the camera, it is silently facing the door that Bruno entered last, and there are so-called striped pajamas stacked outside the door... This is war, and all kind people are always the most innocent. The most special part of the movie is to use a child's perspective to examine that special era, those killings and freshness. The film is not purely sympathetic to the Jews, but believes that the war is the mutilation of all good people, including the Germans. The slaughter and blood of war have passed, and what we have to do is to cherish this peaceful and beautiful era.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas quotes

  • Herr Liszt: Yes Bruno?

Bruno: I don't understand, the Jew is down to this one man?

Herr Liszt: The Jew here means the entire Jewish race. If it was just this one man I'm sure something would be done about him.

Bruno: There is such thing as a nice Jew isn't there?

Herr Liszt: [Sarcastically] I think Bruno if you ever find a nice Jew, you'd be the best explorer in the world.

  • Father: My work is very important to our country and to you. We're working very hard to make the world better for you.
