The movie Assassin's Creed was not very popular in the United States, far less than expected, and the evaluation of this movie on domestic websites was exactly the same. I came back to watch the reviews after watching the movie, but I feel that these reviews are a bit untrue, and some people feel like they say what they say.
First of all, some comments said that this movie did not restore the game by gods, moved the players, and did not capture the hearts of passers-by who have never played the game. I haven't played any of the Assassin's Creed games, so I'm in the passerby camp here. When I watched the commercial movie Xtreme Agents, it was extremely dramatic, in which the protagonist Vin Diesel was either grinning with a disgusting smile and winking or showing his tendons. Explosion, gunfight, drag racing, muscle collision, the addition of these elements will only make people feel old-fashioned. Among them, the most blunt plot is that Wu Yifan joins the extreme agent. In the play, he is not only a DJ, but also a DJ. For such "talents", he abandons those veterans who have experienced many battles. The plot is simply far-fetched, right? The action scenes in it are not exciting, there is neither a real sense of blow, nor cool moves, it is completely the same as arm wrestling! Really old fashioned! Maybe it's because I haven't seen the films before Xtreme Agents, so I don't have any related feelings. I just want to give it 4 points for this kind of film. However, it is such a movie that is based on the same routine, finds domestic martial arts stars and fresh meat for the male protagonist to make money, and does not feel any sincerity. The score is higher than that of Assassin's Creed. Is it all the so-called hope that the greater the disappointment for the sake of it?
Going back to the online comments I mentioned earlier, there are also some who say that this drama is under the guise of an action scene, but in fact it only has nearly 20 minutes of fighting. In fact, the game restored by this play has a complex plot and a huge world view. Although there are not many fighting scenes, it contains a lot of assassin elements, which is relatively new in my opinion. Others commented that the film spends a lot of time telling the plot, but the plot is not clear, and many of the plot's confusing endings are incomprehensible. I generally agree with this comment. But I would like to give a more fair assessment on this point. Regarding the Apple of Eden, I didn't understand its specific origin and function when I was watching the movie. But this does not delay my understanding of the subsequent plot when watching the movie. When watching the movie, it should be clear that this apple is an important item in the battle between the Brotherhood and the Templars, and it is inextricably linked to free will; once it is used by the Templars, free will will cease to exist , all will be subject to obedience. And that's not what the fraternity wants to see. In fact, only this level of understanding is enough for watching this movie, and it takes a lot of film length to explain the deeper concepts. As for the ending, I think the audience who watch it seriously can also understand it. I admit that if you are an old player after watching this movie, you may be very dissatisfied, there are not many assassination scenes and it is not exciting enough, and the action is not as skilled as in the game (I watched the related game live after watching the movie), but it makes me disdain What's more, those passers-by who have read the film review are watching this movie with the attitude of watching a bad movie, and from the beginning they don't pay attention to watching the whole story and waiting for the fight, but they still say that the story is messy, then your disappointment lies in your step. It was doomed before going to the cinema. And the critics who analyze where a movie rots based on its poor box office is also extremely irresponsible.
I would like to give four stars to this film. The one star I deducted is mainly because the parkour scenes in it are too many and not exciting enough, and they can only be released. In the end, there will be no suspense. Instead of moving a lot of running in the game. It's better to spend more time explaining the plot, it will be better for the audience to understand and so on.
