Reality, fuck me again!

I like the structure of nocturnal animals very much. The bright line is the tired and dull life of the female protagonist in reality, while the dark line is a metaphor of the male protagonist's mental journey.

At the beginning of the story, a very visually impactful awkward dance makes people feel uncomfortable. The opening ceremony of such an ugly dance was regarded as spectacular by the spectators, and the hostess did not agree with it, and expressed that she did not love her current job, her current husband, and her current life. She tried to change her life of fearlessness and ugliness but was powerless. The heroine hates her own life, and in essence hates herself. The director did not hesitate to use a slightly disgusting opening to make the audience feel a sense of disgust.

The director is very smart. There is no flashback, and there is no sequential narrative. Instead, he draws out the male protagonist from the middle of the entire movie story in the form of a novel. As the movie progressed, we discovered that the heroine was not OOXX, and for some reason, I was a little frustrated and faced the wall. When I learned that the female protagonist destroyed the male protagonist's child, I realized that the mother and daughter in the novel are the reflections of the female protagonist in reality. In the novel, the mother and daughter died in cruel reality, and died of the hero's own cowardice. The road encounter in the novel corresponds to the quarrel between the male and female protagonists in real life, and the death of the mother and daughter should be the time node in the bright line when the male and female protagonists break up. After that, the heroine lived a life that she hated. Just as her mother predicted, people would eventually lose to reality. On the other hand, what about the male lead? His later life was as described in the novel, immersed in regret and sadness, unable to extricate himself, and even dared not face the cruel reality. Until the end, the male protagonist and the little hooligan made their bodies covered with scales with their hard anus, and they took away their own guns. It was really embarrassing to die. We can feel the pain and collapse that the male protagonist experiences in reality.

In fact, our little hooligan is the reality that he wants to fuck us all the time, and the more we think he wants to fuck us, the more likely he will fuck us. Because we subconsciously know that life is cruel and unreasonable. At the end of the novel, the male protagonist and the hooligan perish together. It is the male protagonist's break with this unbearable life, helpless and tragic. He said goodbye to his beloved and never saw each other again. He didn't even give him a chance to have dinner, which shows his decision. This is also the part that I think the director deals with more excitingly. The dinner is left blank to magnify the sadness of the heroine being beaten time and time again by life. It's just that in the end we don't know whether when a man is destroyed, will he sublimate or sink? The director did not give an answer, but in the opening scene, a middle-aged woman dressed as a tarot astrologer expressed his own views on the helpless reality.

Embedded in the painting (note the awe and astonishment of the characters in the painting), the god-like middle-aged woman is the only brilliance of the whole film! ! She seems to be saying: reality, fuck me again, I will still give you a slight smile.

  • Bobby Andes: So, I'll tell what we got, we had a attempted to round up at a supermarket and mall last night just before closing. Caught one of the guys, one got killed, one got away.

Tony Hastings: What you want me to do?

Bobby Andes: See if you can recognize the one we caught. You can look at the dead one too, although I don't really think it's necessary, we know who he is.

    Tony Hastings: Who?

    Bobby Andes: Steve Adams.

  • Bobby Andes: It's gonna be rough on them out there, not knowing how it's gonna come. Maybe Ray get killed, for resisting arrest, or coming at home late at night, might get shot by a burglar.
