One day, they encountered heavy rain during their journey, and the river swelled. He stayed at a riverside inn and waited for the river to recede before setting off. On the second day, when the heavy rain had just stopped, Ibei went out for a walk, stopped the private fight between the warriors in the city in the forest, and was appreciated by the city lord and Izumi Shou who came. The city owner believed that Yibingwei had both ability and virtue, and wanted to hire him as a swordsman instructor, but this was opposed by the conservatives in the city. In the end, it was decided that Ibei would compete with the competitors to convince everyone. In the contest, Ibei easily defeated the challenger. Izumi Shou also fought against him with a spear, but was shot down into the water by Yibingwei, losing all face, and Yibingwei returned in anger. A few days later, the old man in the city informed Yi Bing that because he had previously gone to the martial arts hall to gamble for the poor in the relief inn, the gambler could not be the swordsman instructor.
