I've watched it twice, unlike some movies that can only be watched once. To be honest, the first time I watched it, I just enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Alps, the beautiful music, the cute French boy and the beautiful Pyrenees. The second time I read the historical background of World War II with Chinese subtitles, the German occupation of France and the murder of Jews, and many more. People helped and rescued the Jews to Switzerland, including the German captain who liked French girls. In fact, France and Germany belong to the same Europe. Apart from being forced to carry out Hitler's order to kill Jews, the Germans are friendly to ordinary French people in the occupied areas. Unlike the brutality and rape of women after the Germans conquered the Soviet Union, the Soviets in turn took the same revenge when they captured Berlin.
