After the "Hangover" trilogy, Todd Phillips disappeared for a while, and this time he appeared in front of everyone with a new work, which could not help but flatter the audience. Originally thought that Todd gave up the nonsense and funny themes he used before and started to take the military theme route. After all, the title of the film makes people imagine. But after watching the film, I was proven wrong. Although this "Arms Dealer" is dressed as a "military thriller", it is actually a continuation of Todd's usual entertainment and surreal work. Of course, the movie is not only funny (black humor), The director asked the audience to think more about some issues, such as "anti-war", "humanism", "politics and economy". . . From this point of view, the connotation of this film is much deeper than that of "The Hangover". Of course, it's very possible that Todd's play is limited because the film is based on real events.

The film's two protagonists + an alternative protagonist
Efraim Diveroli (played by Jonah Hill), two Oscar nominations for male supporting roles, good at spoof comedy

David Packouz (played by Miles Teller), who personally loves his performance in "The Bursting Drummer", praises his acting skills

Henry Girard (played by Bradley Cooper), the main reason why he is called an "alternative protagonist" is the relationship between Bradley and Todd. They have known each other for a long time. The male protagonist of the "Hangover" trilogy knows Todd's style too well. Compatibility is quite high.

Entering the film, I began to interpret this work from two aspects
: military theme + interesting plot + realistic ending
theme, it is obvious that the word "war dogs" has already revealed everything. The story is about "the use of two young American ZF omission (to allow small companies to bid for US military contracts), the big war profiteering, lived a life of debauchery, big spenders of the day, the result of a problem in the completion of the last bid project.

Begins early A taste of victory. The
successful cooperation between Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz originated entirely from Efraim Diveroli's cleverness, picking up a bargain. But things were far from what they thought. They had no choice but to go to Jordan, bribe the locals, and start their own delivery journey. Along the way, they were patrolled by border soldiers, hunted by local militants, and rescued by the US military. It felt like an adventure. Of course don't forget to collect the money (the settlement of the goods)

Part 1, Journey to Albania, the End of Everything
Thanks to Henry's help (delivery of goods), Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz won the "Afghanistan Order" with a price advantage. When inspecting the goods, David noticed the problem (the problem of the country of origin, see the picture for details), but there was no way out, so he had to take the risk and use shoddy to achieve the balance of making money. . .

At the end, Huang Liang Yi Meng
passed through the events of Albania, David finally parted ways with Efraim, and at this time the film ushered in the end. Because of Ralph's whistleblower, all events surfaced, and the dream came to nothing.

Second, find the true meaning of life from laughter.
There are many things in the world that can be done, and there are also many things that cannot be done. This requires people to make choices. In this money-led society, people need money, but "a gentleman loves money and gets it right", there is an essential difference between whether to rely on deception to make money, or to rely on real materials to make money. The final ending of the film confirms the director's point of view, "It is understandable to make a profit, but with greed, everything is empty."

Written at the end, Todd once again showed a deep drama in his own way, making people see the weakness of human nature behind the laughter, which is worth thinking about.
