After reading "The History of Violence", I reminded myself to focus on the plot while watching it, and don't keep thinking about how Viggo people are so good-looking and their voices are so soothing. The title of the film reveals the theme. I feel that violence has always been something that can be hereditary, from Joey's murder to his son's murder, it's like heredity, the blood debt and disaster it brings remain on the father, and the son's future is still blank, who knows that violence will Where does it lead people? Once something becomes the fuse, the next set of firecrackers will fill your life with smoke. Everything you don't want to encounter and don't want to mention is uncovered, and you have no way to escape, but to face it.

[Richie talks to Joey about the business]

Richie Cusack: Yeah, I am, I am. I'm still behind the eight-ball... because of you. There's a certain lack of respect, a certain lack of trust. The boys in Boston are just waitin' for me to go down.

Tom Stall: Hello?
Richie Cusack: [voice] Hey, Bro-heem. You're still pretty good with the killing. That's exciting.
Tom Stall: Richie?
Richie Cusack: [chuckles; voice] Yeah, it's Richie. What do you say, Joey? Are you going to come see me? Or do I have to come see you?
