This is one of the few horror movies that I would especially like to give full marks to

Why?

First of all, its subject matter is not really new. Of course, I watched his movie in 2007. Resident Evil is the first zombie-themed horror movie I have seen. It was released in 2002 (so, in fact, this The subject is not old?) The subject is someone from Rome who insists on researching viruses, experimenting with viruses, and then infecting each other, causing a crisis! (To be honest, if the attic was his laboratory, the failure of research on antibodies would be expected. The research environment is too shabby.)

But how good is it? The first is its setting. I especially like this kind of secret room-like scene. This movie seals everyone in a four-story building that is surrounded and isolated. In such a situation of isolation and helplessness, everyone's reaction, from helplessness to anger, to choosing to rescue or give up the infected person, is particularly real and direct. The same kind of warmth in this kind of scene is very rare, such as starting to bicker with each other, but can’t remember the old couple who live on several floors (I’m really glad I didn’t see them being bitten directly, otherwise I would be very sad) ; Another example is the mother who knows that her daughter is likely to be infected and still hugs her daughter (of course, this kind of concealment is not good, but human nature is like this, and will choose people who are closer); the last one, although at first abandoned firefighters, later because of being It's great to bite the guards who isolate themselves.

The second is the most brilliant shooting technique. In fact, there are not only this one, but this one is the best one I have seen that can take into account the authenticity and stability (I have seen one before) , the camera is like taking medicine). Just because of this way of shooting, it is easy for the audience to enter the scene, and I think it is easy for the actors to play more realistically. The female reporter inside was interviewing each person separately when the infection had just broken out and everyone was in a stable mood, which made me feel the most immersive. The real feeling of being trapped in that building.

The last thing I want to talk about is the suspense at the end of the film, which is also the only scene where I was taken aback. After fleeing to the attic, the female reporter and photographer accidentally discovered the cause of the infection, (from the newspaper clippings covered on the wall) the source of the infection was a Portuguese girl, I can't think of the girl in the attic ceiling It should be holding a weapon like a skeleton later, (that? It's actually very similar to the witch in Left 4 Dead, the kind that won't attack you if you don't disturb her, haha?) It is mentioned in the recording that the researcher sealed the girl in the attic but the kid in the attic looked much smaller than the newspaper.

REC quotes

  • Ángela: [to Pablo, before interviewing a fireman] If this is a pain in the ass, just cut, okay?

  • Álex: People think we run around, putting out fires but around 70% of the calls we get are for other types of services.

    Ángela: Like what?

Álex: For example, broken water mains, or pet rescue too. Even though it sounds cliché, it's true.
