Already tomorrow in Hong Kong

After I watching this movie, I was deeply moved.
The quick fix lifestyle in Hong Kong is getting more and more common. People spend a lot of time doing their works, just to earn as much money as possible. Gradually, people are used to fast food, fast transportation, fast communication. Under this pressure, more people do not care the program, only care about their result. And result depends on their reward and value.
My heart was always touched by people eating food while crossing the road quickly, and much traffic in this city. I like people having lots of work to do, and being busy in their working. For I hate someone having nothing to do all the time just like the trash. Although they just want more money ,they take their time to create their own value. As for me, I like this busy city. I am busy, but I'm enjoying life. The quick-fix society promote the economic development, and at the same time it enhances our efficiency.
This is a loving movie which tells us two Americans encounter each other in the bar. Ruby came to Hong Kong for the first time, in this unfamiliar environment, she didn't know how to get to her place. Later, Josh showed her the way and took her to the place. Josh, an American has lived in Hong Kong for 10 years. After taking her into Hong Kong, two strangers had some common thoughts and both of them glared at each other with friendly eye contact. When Ruby knew Josh has a girlfriend.,with the moral condemnation ,she only saw without talking.
One year later, they met at each other on the ship, and had a night like that night once more. Even if it has a no ending story, he and Ruby has a romantic involvement.

Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong quotes

  • Ruby: I've always been intrigued with expats.

    Josh: Yeah?

Ruby: Yeah. I mean, they always gave the impression that living abroad is so glamorous. But when my grandparents immigrated to the States from Hong Kong, their journey is anything but glamorous.

    Josh: You see that?

    Ruby: Yeah?

Josh: That's my office right there.

Ruby: It almost makes it worth being a banker.

Josh: All those lights on in the offices. It's 11:00 in a Friday night. Those are all people working. It isn't as glamorous as it looks.

    Ruby: Guess not.

  • Josh: There's something very wrong with your city when the only good thing you have going for it is the weather.
