That star-shaped shell is a feeling that I only understood in 14 years

While watching Finding Nemo, I still can't understand what a lucky fin means to Nemo. I can't understand why Nemo's dad is so timid and so worried about danger. I always feel that this father is just like the parents around him, timid and does not believe in children. However, when 14 years passed and I went back to review it in preparation for the second part, I actually burst into tears. What? Is that so? It turned out that this father was not timid at first. At that time, he was also carefree, optimistic and happy. Until... after a disaster, he lost his wife, lost almost all of his children, and all he had, but the one and only Nemo. He just became so cautious.
It turns out that this is not the simple adventure and then coming home story that I read as a child. It's a story about flaws, growth, and affection.
Speaking of the film, the storytelling and scene switching of this film have a strange sense of jumping, which makes people seem to feel that the film is not finished. It feels that some necessary explanations are missing, so the series connection of several paragraphs in the film makes people feel a bit abrupt. There are many things that need to be visualized that are not visualized. The story takes place in the water, but there is no obvious visual difference in several underwater scenes in the film, especially a large number of scenes take place in the dark areas of the underwater, the scenes are very similar, and the vision is quite monotonous. The result is a bit of blindness that creates the illusion of a chaotic spatial position. Many characters, even the protagonist, did not intervene in the story or foreshadowing, but only relied on a few lines to appear. For example, I was your friend in the past, and then I really became a close friend with the protagonist. Even the main supporting character, Octopus, relied on the lines to say that I wanted to be exhibited, and then determined the character's motives. In fact, it didn't take much time to describe the reason for the idea with a little picture or story.
There are two possibilities for this feeling: First, Finding Nemo 2 is not a project that attempts to invest a lot, using those scene characters from the past, plus aquarium and road scenes, and intends to simply be a sequel. The other is that the film was not finished at all before it was released, but it had to meet the schedule, so many scenes that were not made in time were not done, and lines were used to make up for the incoherent narrative. In short, these two conjectures.
Therefore, in a horizontal comparison, this film is definitely not as good as its predecessor, let alone compared with "Wall-e" or "Inside Out".
Therefore, the viewing experience is relatively mediocre. In the first part of the film, until Nemo and Marin enter the aquarium, there is really no special refreshing point. In the second half of the film, the story basically returns to a normal level. There are laughter and tears.
The script is actually quite good. For example, it uses a suspenseful film structure, which is considered an innovation in the way of narrative in the cartoon, and it is an interesting attempt.

So, overall, is this movie worth watching? Here's how I feel: There are many flaws in the film, but...I tend to think that the flaws are a matter of production cycle or cost, not a problem of creativity or the script itself. There is one scene that is very worth watching...it's the part of the shell... (but no spoilers) Although it's a happy yellow handkerchief routine, I'm still moved... In

terms of theme, Pixar is actually very deep, even from 14 Years ago. Since Nemo is a fish, it's not surprising to see his lucky fins, but what does it feel like to have a person whose right hand is only one-third the length of the other? Well, this time the protagonist, Dolly, who can't remember more than 1 minute, is actually the same story, the same flaws, the same mutual dependence, the same family affection.
After watching it on Father's Day, I thought of something like this: when the child came back from kindergarten, he made a whole bag of cookies, which he said was a Father's Day gift for his father. I ate all the cookies and there were two left, one was ugly, small, kind of like a ball, and the other was a pretty cookie shape. I knew right away which one he made, so I picked up the ball and asked him, did you make this? He said yes, but the other one looks better. I said I don't want the better-looking one, can you give this to Dad? He said yes. The things that children make with their own hands are more precious than any good things.
So I think of Nemo, I think of Marlin, I think of Dolly and his parents, and I think of Dolly saying: Mom loves purple seashells. Little Dolly, from the front, her eyes are bigger than her body. She can't do much, but she's still such a beautiful little life. Really burst into tears, going from Nemo to Marlin, from Dolly to her parents. You know, that star-shaped shell is a feeling that took 14 years to understand.
