Why bother, it's good | Hong Kong Tomorrow

This film is perfect for the mood at this moment - after a long period of sleep deprivation, I finally took a long nap and woke up to find the cat watching the scenery on the windowsill, and the rain outside the window. I decided to order a takeaway to finish the dinner, picked up my phone and placed the order, then sat groggy next to the computer and opened the just-ordered "It's already tomorrow in HongKong", the English name is it's already tomorrow in HongKong.

The film is 80 minutes, all in English, no Chinese subtitles. I watched it while playing on my mobile phone, and I finished watching it roughly. It sounds like my English, but it's actually very bad. I can understand it because the dialogue is life-like enough. , and the male and female protagonists are all Americans, short sentences, and no uncommon vocabulary. As long as you often watch European and American film and television dramas with the original sound, I believe you can understand it too.
Paradoxically, the takeaway was not delivered until I was almost finished, but I was not in any hurry. It can be seen that this movie made me feel relieved.

Before I watched it, I knew 0. The reason why I chose to download is entirely because of the title. After being pitted by the best film "Ten Years" at the Academy Awards, I am very concerned about this kind of film with a Hong Kong flavor.
At first I thought the male and female protagonists would be OOXX, but when they opened their mouths to talk, I knew they would not, because the seemingly casual but exquisite framing and the two life-like performances made me think that the director was shooting the Hong Kong version of "Sunrise and Sunset" Trilogy" (Richard Linklater's "On" romance films "Love at Sunset", "Love Before Dawn" and "Love Before Midnight"). Compared with a "time master" like Richard Linklater, the director of this film is of course a lot worse, because any frame of the love trilogy seems to be random, and the cut is a beautiful postcard of scenery, and "Hong Kong" "Tomorrow" can only be used as a mobile phone wallpaper, and the picture level and information level are completely incomparable. But no matter what, the small, fresh and pure literary positioning of "Hong Kong Tomorrow" and the strong atmosphere of a city propaganda film are destined to be impossible for the two protagonists to get together.

In this case, I just watched it in a daze, and it turned out to be quite comfortable, like listening to a woman who was a year or two older than me with a super temperament, sitting in a softly lit room, talking softly. A story that happened yesterday.
After watching it, I thought, in fact, it is really unnecessary to look for movies to watch. There is no absolute shortage of movies in the world. The so-called bad movies, good or bad, are meaningless. There is no good or bad, only suitable and Not suitable, what is suitable? Just to make you feel comfortable after watching it. If I opened "Hong Kong Tomorrow" in the afternoon, but "Love Night Puss" and "Meat Futon", then I might fall into another form of confusion, but the one I just opened was "Hong Kong Tomorrow", which didn't use any hooks. Human means create highlights, but naturally bring me into the situation, which I think is good.
In fact, the films I like are basically "sneak into the night with the wind, moisturizing things silently", any film that wants to force me into the film, I will have a rebellious mentality. It's a violent fight, a naked body, and also outside the film, such as kneeling. Before watching, I might have captured fragments of information about the film on my phone and roughly pieced together what it looked like in my head, but the act of kneeling forced me into a fixed perception: this The film asked me for money. What would I do? I would violently reject the emotional impression that I had managed to build from fragments of information earlier.
But then again, I didn't plan to watch "A Hundred Birds Toward the Phoenix" at first, because I was irritable when I heard the sound of the suona. I thought it was an instrument that should die sooner, but the director used it to convey his feelings. I am disgusted with this kind of big setting, and I will stop watching it if you kneel again. I have a whole bunch of conspiracy theories about this behavior, but I'm not going to write about it today, because I'm going to get cold if I don't eat takeout.

Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong quotes

  • Ruby: I've always been intrigued with expats.

    Josh: Yeah?

Ruby: Yeah. I mean, they always gave the impression that living abroad is so glamorous. But when my grandparents immigrated to the States from Hong Kong, their journey is anything but glamorous.

    Josh: You see that?

    Ruby: Yeah?

Josh: That's my office right there.

Ruby: It almost makes it worth being a banker.

Josh: All those lights on in the offices. It's 11:00 in a Friday night. Those are all people working. It isn't as glamorous as it looks.

    Ruby: Guess not.

  • Josh: There's something very wrong with your city when the only good thing you have going for it is the weather.
