Talk about
Shen You from the perspective of dream analysis
. Details, but do not want to look at it again. Now, there is another movie that finally made me sit still: "People with No Name". It is true that the more you watch many movies, the more you can discover their subtleties, but compared to the second time, I prefer to spend time letting it ferment in my mind, warming up, adding strokes and strokes, and becoming rich. Something with its own flavor. Therefore, the after-view of this film is only based on the fact that I have seen it once, and it has a strong personal color.
In this film review, I will use a lot of Freud's ideas about dreams, because in essence, this film interprets two "dreams" that a little boy has done in an instant.
1.
In the process of watching Nemo's two lives , I have more than once flashed a thought: There must be many people who can't understand like me.
But when I read it, I couldn't help but feel a little heavy.
Writers and directors must want to tell a good story and shock us down at the end, but this movie only has the former. Even at the end, when nobody says "we're all just a nine-year-old's imagination", I'm sure a large portion of the audience still doesn't understand.
The biggest mystery of the film is actually that the
constructivist school believes that learning is the process of constantly re-deconstructing and constructing old knowledge to obtain new knowledge. Our learning is based on old knowledge.
Our study of this film is to be based on the view that the "real life" we live in is the only real time and space, and to reorganize and construct the details of the film to complete the study of the film.
Only by forgetting all the so-called time-space collapse and parallel universes can we discuss the movie. In a nutshell, the film portrays Nemo, a young boy who has experienced a divorce from his parents and is forced to make a choice between "living with his father or living with his mother" at the time of farewell. But there was no time to make a choice, the train was already leaving. Mom got on the train, the train started, and the little boy ran after the train helplessly. Seeing that he was about to catch up with the train, his father suddenly shouted to make little Nemo turn back, so he missed his mother's train.
Seeing my dear mother being taken away by the train, I thought, "If only my father didn't call me, so I could be with my mother." Then daydreaming out a life of living with my mother, which has always been in this life. There is a mother, and Anna appears.
However, this is only a momentary imagination. Little Nemo turned around and saw his father walking towards him. For a moment, I thought about what life was like with this man, and then there was another daydreaming of living with my father. In order to distinguish it from the previous daydreaming, we call the one with the mother as DM (daydreaming with mother), which contains Anna; the latter is called DF (daydreaming with father), which contains the three little girls on the small bench.
It should be noted that in the two lives, there are some key events, which we call nodes. The occurrence or not of these events or the direction of these events are different, and they form a variety of life trends, just like a fork in the road, the more points. more. For example, whether you are with Anna or not, there are two trends of "together" and "not together". In the direction of "together", the two of them "meet" and "haven't met" are two trends. In the end all the endings are Nemo's death.
It is worth mentioning that the explanation of these various life fragments in the whole film is not revealed at the end, but a hint has already appeared in the middle of the film. One, for example, in the life of Nemo and his wife suffering from depression in DF, Nemo's white car has no license plate, which is impossible in reality; second, Nemo in DF is comforting the depressed It's time to turn around and see the jeans logo dropped from the shopping bag on the bedside table, where there is a connection and confusion with the cheap jeans that caused that rain of wet phone numbers in the DM. There are many such little details in these two imagined lives, and they actually reflect our dreaming state, blurry and chaotic.
2. Nobody's life After
discussing Nemo's two lives, it's time to talk about nobody's life.
In the two periods of life just mentioned, despite the changes in personnel, the protagonist's name has always been Nemo. So why became nobody in 2092? Because he's either Nemo or nobody. In the world where nobody appears, the keynote of the world is white, and everyone wears shirts, jackets and plaid sweaters. In this world, nobody sees Nemo in every life, and it is the only world where there are several identical people. So where did nobody come from?
Likewise, in order to distinguish old nobody from young nobody, we call the former nobody the old nobody and the latter the young nobody.
So, what is the relationship between Nemo and nobody?
In short, nobody is Nemo, but Nemo is not nobody.
To be more specific, nobody is Nemo who has gone through a certain life path, that is, became a university professor, recorded classes every day, and married Alice (a blonde girl who suffered from depression later). Alice encountered the same experience after her death from depression. Widow Anna's, that Nemo, we call it Nemo*.
How can you be sure that nobody is this Nemo*?
Because of the same hairstyle, the same style of clothing, and the same car. If that's not enough, at the end of the film, the old nobody murmurs before he dies: Anna. And in all the lives where Anna has appeared, Nemo either stayed with her or died, but this time, she only met once, and was regarded as a pervert, and she could not ask for it.
One might ask here, this Nemo* died in the film, in a car at the bottom of the lake.
Note that the world we are talking about is an old nobody's dream (produced by hypnosis), and the Nemo* that exists is just the role that the old nobody plays in the dream, an identity he chooses.
Well, here comes the question. How did Nemo* become nobody?
We know that at a certain time, Nemo became nobody, and its external expression was that Nemo in ordinary clothes became nobody in plaid sweaters.
This clip is very interesting.
In the movie, this scene is arranged after Nemo comforts his depressed wife, rolls over and sees the jeans logo on the bedside table, and then is driving on the road (but there is actually a lot of things happening in the middle, when Alice is dead, and at the same time The assistant who recorded the lessons for Nemo* also died, Nemo* had already met Anna). Nemo drove to a congested section of road, got out of the car to check, and the people around him had turned into plaid sweaters. He saw another self (actually Nemo in a certain life) in a series of directions, chased down to a seaside, saw a helicopter, and saw the coast. Then hear the doctor hypnotized remember.
At this point, we can see that this world does not exist, and it is different from the life imagined by the previous two paragraphs of little Nemo. This world was created by nobody, and Nobody is Nemo*, so this world was created by little Nemo. The world created by Nemo* is like the "dream" and "dream within a dream" in Inception.
The "dream within a dream" created by this nobody is a higher world. This world is a world created by the old nobody under the hypnosis of the doctor, just like God overlooks. The purpose of doctor hypnosis is to make nobody recall, so in this world born under hypnosis, nobody saw all kinds of dead Nemo, which is actually the clue and epitome of nobody's "recall" of various lives. Towards the end of the film, the camera returns to this white-based world, Nemo* (who has now become nobody, wearing a plaid shirt) is in a mental hospital, by a psychiatrist (a careful person will find out , the doctor who hypnotized the old nobody) performed the inkblot test. Under various prompts, the young nobody gradually walks towards a path that the old nobody prepared for.
Many properties of dreams are also implied here. When we are dreaming, many times the plot develops very strangely, and we always seem to know where to go and what to do next. This "hint" from nowhere is hidden in every corner of our dreams.
3. The characteristics of the dream of
the movie The two kinds of life performed in the whole 150 minutes of the movie are all imagined in the moment when the little Nemo who is chasing the train turns back. How short is a moment? Probably only one-hundred-thousandth of a second. This is a very common phenomenon in our sleep. Many very long dreams, some twists and turns are bizarre, a lot of things happened, and even a lifetime, in fact, the total time is no more than an hour, and it usually occurs in the one before waking up. Hours, psychologically known as the rapid eye movement sleep stage, a variety of information and imagination flash across our cerebral cortex, captured by our consciousness, and then coherent into a dramatic dream. That's why I call this imagining daydreaming, because it has all the characteristics of a dream.
What is related to dreams must be related to desires.
Let us try to discuss a few details of this film from the perspective of dream analysis.
1 It is the sea that will build the future world.
Nemo is afraid of water, the dreamer is little Nemo, and at the same time little Nemo wets the bed. It seems that little Nemo is not good at everything related to water and is a loser. So he chose to use sea water to build his world. In fact, I want to use this to prove that I can control the water and prove that I am strong when it comes to water.
Freud said that dreams are the satisfaction of human desires. In little Nemo's heart, there is a desire to conquer water. Therefore, the little Nemo in daydreaming uses water as a brick, so as to comfort himself who is afraid of water in reality, so as to achieve the satisfaction of desire.
2 About nobody's dream
About the world full of plaid shirts and white tones, I have never explained in detail why nobody created it, not just like the rest of life, it was created by little Nemo. To analyze this, we can equate the world with a dream an old nobody had when he was hypnotized.
Since it is a dream, it must have the characteristics of a dream:
people can only dream of what they have seen.
Dreams in dreams are also in line with the characteristics of dreams, except that the word "seen" in "people can only dream of things they have seen" refers to those seen in higher-level dreams, because for dreams in dreams, it is The superior dream is the "real world" in the relative sense.
There are a few obvious clues:
A. The tone of this world is white, which is very similar to the future world (also white) in which nobody lives, but is quite different from the world (ordinary world) in which little Nemo lives.
B. Coasts and helicopters also appear in the future world where nobody lives. also appeared in this world.
C. The psychiatrist who does the inkblot test for nobody (that is, Nemo*) in this world looks exactly the same as the hypnotist of the old nobody in the future world.
D. In this world, the young nobody (Nemo*) is always surrounded by various inexplicable prompts. Through these prompts, the young nobody walks step by step to the end designed for the old nobody.
To sum up, this weird world is a dream within a dream, and the things that appear in it are all things that the protagonist of the superior dream, the old nobody, has seen. This world is an old nobody's dream, not little Nemo.
3.
The discussion here of "Asexual Man" can fully explain that little Nemo's imagination of two kinds of life has the characteristics of a complete dream.
The two lives mainly described in the film are the "daydreams" of little Nemo. Freud believed that the source of all human behavior is sexual desire, or related to sex. It is fully reflected in these two imaginations of little Nemo.
The tragedy of King Oedipus in Greek mythology actually reflects the general tendency of men to kill their fathers and marry their mothers, just as a boy's first sexual fantasy object must be his mother, and his father is replaced. Reflected in little Nemo's daydreaming about two periods of life, such desire and tendency have been fully satisfied.
In the imagination of living with the father, the father is directly paralyzed (reflecting the satisfaction of the hostility to the father), and Nemo needs to take care of him in daily life (reflecting the satisfaction of the desire to conquer the patriarchal power), the father has lost the dignity of the father, Not worthy of being called a father, also achieved the purpose of "killing the father".
In the imagination of living with his mother, Nemo is hostile to every blind date of his mother, and uses various methods to prevent his mother from having a relationship with other men, which actually means "marrying a mother".
The inextricable relationship with the dream is destined to have an inextricable relationship between this film and sex. Love and sex are the main content in each Nemo's life, affecting the direction of Nemo in each life path. As a little Nemo who is immature and has an incomplete understanding of both genders, it is better to say that he is a complete "sexual person" rather than "asexual person".
4.
There is nothing to talk about about the collapse of time that everyone is interested in . I believe that everyone can find them on Baidu with just a few fingers.
There is only one point, when the last second comes and the universe stops expanding and starts shrinking, time goes backwards and we are forced to start going backwards along the previous trajectory. However, it was the playful smile of the old nobody (or old Nemo* for now) that was thought-provoking. This shows that the changes of time and space can only control the movement of objects, not our thoughts. Thinking will not go backwards, we maintain the memory of all previous times, and the formation of all synapses in the brain is irreversible.
Wisdom is irreversible.
This is probably the most shocking part of the whole movie for me.
5. A conjecture was
written here, and I suddenly thought that maybe the old nobody symbolizes the consciousness in the human brain, which is the censorship system mentioned by Freud, and the little Nemo is the potential ideas in the human brain (Freud Lloyd said that the desires embodied in dreams are essentially the desires of people’s childhood. Everyone’s childhood, childhood self, is preserved in every night’s dreams), which is the desire system.
Anyway, this is a movie worthy of careful consideration. Many ideas need to be discussed and confirmed. After all, I have only watched it once.
