I have always felt that America is not about cities, skyscrapers and Hollywood. The United States is supported by countless small towns, where people work, some are fishing, some are logging, some are fishing for shrimp, and some are repairing cars. Sunrise and sunset. It's a decentralized world, pubs, motels, supermarkets, hospitals, scattered everywhere. People are driving Ford or Dodge pickups with tires spinning, leaving behind churning mud. The town is desolate, lonely and hopeless. People labored hard to maintain the traditional way of life, doubted and feared the law and technology. The working people are rough and dirty, they develop a skill and prefer to stay in their hometown.
Ellis was a good man, and he was so fortunate to have simple parents, lifelong companions, and so many beautiful girls. A little budding love is uprooted and it is only a matter of shedding a few tears. The young mind, the sun always shines, and hope is always ahead.
