The Chinese Touch of American Heroes

I just finished watching this film, I feel a lot of emotion, and I have the urge to say something. This American disaster blockbuster filmed in 1998 may look a lot worse now in terms of special effects, but it does give people an ideological impact that many films cannot give now.
1. In the face of survival, war seems so ridiculous, but war has made many people lose their right to survive. This may also be an irony.
2. If living becomes a luxury, can we still be beautiful.
3. Why can't the heroes of China impress me like this? In the same cultural background, they tell about the heroes around us, but they feel that the heroes are far away from us, and under different cultural backgrounds, they tell the stories of our reality. The heroes that will appear make people feel full of tears. What is lacking in domestic movies? What is the Chinese spirit?
Perhaps we will not be able to see the moving of Chinese heroes until the purpose (commercial and political) of Chinese films is not so obvious. I hope that day will not be far away!

This is really the first time I have posted this kind of thing. Most of what I said has nothing to do with the movie. It is just a feeling in my heart. I hope there will be more and more good domestic movies.

Deep Impact quotes

  • Jenny Lerner: [about Rittenhouse] Biggest story in history? What an ego.

  • Spurgeon Tanner: We don't have time to talk, Houston. There's nothing we can do about the smaller one, but... we do have a plan. We need the arming codes for the last four nukes.

Otis Hefter: Arming codes? What the hell for?

Spurgeon Tanner: Mitch, we can do or we can teach. What's your pleasure?

Otis Hefter: [sighs, and shouts to his people] Get the arming codes! Get the God-damn codes!
